PETALING JAYA: Three persons, including a year-old girl, died when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a car at KM53, Jalan Klang Banting. Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the incident on Saturday (May 24) occurred at 1pm when an SUV driven by a woman in her 30s heading from Sepang towards Banting entered the opposite lane. "The vehicle collided with the victims' motorcycle, with the man's wife and child riding pillion. "The collision resulted in the couple and their daughter being thrown onto the road," Sinar Harian quoted Supt Mohd Akmalrizal as saying on Sunday (May 25). According to him, all three victims suffered serious head injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene by the assistant medical officer at Banting Hospital. He said the couple were in their 20s while the child was a year old. The bodies of the victims were sent to the Banting Hospital for post-mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Supt Mohd Akmalrizal urged members of the public who have any information on the incident to contact investigating officer Insp S. SHAH ALAM: A trailer lorry is believed to have lost control, causing a collision involving five other vehicles at KM32.5 of the Klang-Banting road, in front of a bank in Banting, on Wednesday (May 14). Kuala Langat police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Mohd Radzi said in a statement on Thursday that all victims, aged between 20 and 50, were unhurt. He said in the 12.15pm incident, a trailer lorry travelling from Dengkil to Sungai Buaya is believed to have crashed into another lorry, causing it to hit other vehicles that were making way for a passenger sedan to park by the roadside. Mohd Akmalrizal said the other vehicles hit include two sedans, a sports utility vehicle, and a multi-purpose van, adding that the trailer lorry driver, in his 40s, holds a valid driver's licence and tested negative for drugs. The case is classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving. He urged the public with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Mazrol Mohd Din, at 011-18539115 or 03-31872222 to assist in the investigation. - Bernama
