Family of six in submerged car believed to have skidded into Sungai Korok
ALOR STAR: The family of six found dead in a submerged Proton Iswara in Sungai Korok, Jitra, are believed to have skidded off the road before plunging into the river. Kubang Pasu District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim said initial checks at the scene suggested the car had veered straight into the river. "So far, investigations do not indicate the involvement of any other vehicle at the scene. "But the case remains under investigation," he told reporters when met at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital's Forensics Department today. Radzi said police had earlier received a missing persons report yesterday after a man was unable to contact his brother, who was travelling with his wife and four children. "Earlier today, we received a call from a member of the public who reported finding a car submerged in Sungai Korok. "The vehicle was successfully pulled to the riverbank and all six bodies were retrieved with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department," he said. The bodies have been sent to the hospital's forensics unit for post-mortem.
