No jackpot here: Kuala Langat cops crush RM1m in case loot from gambling gear, bitcoin rigs and booze seizures
BANTING, July 30 — Kuala Langat police have disposed of various case items comprising contraband, bitcoin machines, gambling equipment, as well as tin and copper valued at RM1.08 million. Kuala Langat acting police chief DSP Mohd Sufian Amin said the disposal involved 47 investigation papers that were completed from 2016 until this year. He said among the contraband disposed of were 14,000 sticks of cigarettes of various brands and 6,192 cans of alcohol of various brands, each valued at RM400,000 and RM25,000 respectively. 'We also disposed of 239 bitcoin machines, 84 sets of computers and mobile phones, 69 jumbo sacks filled with tin and copper, four barrels of tin waste and four boxes of bullet casings, he told a media conference after the disposal of the case items at the Kuala Langat Police Headquarters level here today. — Bernama

No help yet for temple damaged by flooding
THE Sri Maha Athiswari Ambal Temple in Rantau, Negri Sembilan, has sustained extensive damage after being flooded, Makkal Osai reported. Head priest Sri Shanmuga Seelan said the small river next to the temple overflowed into its compound after three hours of heavy rain on Monday. The retaining wall at the entrance of the temple toppled while two small altars were also damaged, hampering devotees and staff from entering. Police looking for man who robbed woman in flower shop
SHAH ALAM: Police are tracking a group of men suspected of committing a robbery when armed with a machete at a flower shop in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat, near here, yesterday. Kuala Langat deputy police chief DSP Mohd Sufian Amin said this followed a report by a woman at 4.50 pm yesterday claiming that she was robbed at the flower shop at about 1.30 pm. According to the report, the woman claimed a group of men, with their heads covered and armed with a machete, arrived in a white Proton Saga car and approached her in the shop. One of them pointed a machete at her before snatching a gold necklace, worth RM4,000, she was wearing and then fled,' he said in a statement here today. Mohd Sufian said the victim, who was with her child in the shop, was not harmed. He said the police had opened an investigation paper under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code and urged members of the public with information regarding the incident to contact the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters (IPD) operations room at 03-31872222 to assist in the investigation.
