Kanwariyas seek shelter at ashram, block highway

Kanpur: Kanwariyas caused disruption by seeking rest at an ashram, leading to a blockage on the Farrukhabad-Bareilly highway in Farrukhabad district on Monday. The station in-charge and police force arrived at the location and through negotiations with the kanwariyas, they successfully arranged for an ashram gate to be opened. The pilgrims received accommodation and food at the facility and departed at 4 am. on Tuesday. During the holy month of Shrawan, Kanwar Yatra continues at Panchal Ghat, Farrukhabad. On Monday evening, many kanwariyas from Harpalpur, Hardoi, arrived to collect Ganga water. Due to rain, they required shelter at a nearby ashram. Finding the ashram gates locked, they tried to enter but unable to gain access, they moved to the Etawah-Bareilly highway. Their protest on the road caused traffic jams in both directions. After receiving information, police officials arrived and through successful negotiations, they calmed the kanwariyas, enabling traffic to resume normally on the highway. Panchal Ghat receives kanwariyas from the local district and neighbouring areas for collecting Ganga water. Indian telecom major Reliance Jio is on track to become the world's largest Fixed Wireless Access provider by subscriber base, eclipsing US-based telecom giant T-Mobile, an analyst report said on Sunday. According to recent data released by telecom regulator Trai, Reliance Jio total 5G FWA subscriber base (including unlicensed band radio) reached 6.88 million in May, while T-Mobile had 6.85 million subscribers in March. Reliance Jio reclassified around 1 million Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) unlicensed band radio (UBR) subscribers into FTTx category, following which its net FWA subscriber base stood at 5.9 million in May, with a monthly addition of 0.74 million customers.
