Race Day Live Begins Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET with Race at 7 p.m. ET Exclusively on Peacock Encore Presentation This Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on NBC STAMFORD, Conn. – April 23, 2025 – The 2025 SMX World ChampionshipTM series and Monster Energy AMA Supercross season continues this Saturday, April 26, from Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa., at 7 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock, with an encore presentation on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on NBC. This is the first time Supercross has raced in Pittsburgh since 1983 at Three Rivers Stadium. Chase Sexton won his second consecutive race in the 450SX Class at MetLife Stadium last weekend and now sits only nine points back from first-place Cooper Webb, who finished as the runner-up in East Rutherford. In the Eastern Divisional 250SX Class, Seth Hammaker led every lap of the race to become the first repeat winner in the division and took sole possession of the points lead, with RJ Hampshire (-3) and Tom Vialle (-7) rounding out the top three. NBC Sports' Leigh Diffey and SuperMotocross analyst Ricky Carmichael, a 15-time AMA champion, will call this weekend's action in Pittsburgh. Will Christien and Jason Thomas will serve as reporters. Cooper Webb Wins Wild Arlington Triple Crown
Heading into the final race of the Arlington Triple Crown, the top five riders were separated by just three points after the first two races. It was still anyone's overall to capture, including the two red plates tied in the championship standings. The third race did not disappoint. After Aaron Plessinger surprised the field by snagging the holeshot, it was short-lived as he crashed along the whoops section and did not end up leading the first lap. Chase Sexton found his way to the lead and it appeared to be smooth sailing for him. But on Lap 13, he stalled the bike and relegated himself to third. That along with a frantic effort on the last lap to pass both Ken Roczen and Cooper Webb resulted in another crash for Sexton, dropping him to fifth by the finish. For Webb, it was just another day at the office as he secured his seventh win under the dome of AT&T Stadium and sole control of the championship points. 'A little bit of luck, as we know,' said the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider about winning the overall. 'It was great riding the last two main events, but Chase had that incident with me and it gave me that win. I didn't feel like I was the best guy tonight, but I put myself in good positions and made the most of it. 'Statistically, I've had the best success here and it's an awesome feeling.' Webb holds a five-point lead over Sexton and a 19-point gap over Roczen. Even without a main event or overall win yet in the 2025 season, Roczen still holds his head high achieving the goal of still being in the fight for podiums, wins, and hopefully the championship battle as the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship approaches the halfway mark. 'I did the best I could today,' said the Suzuki rider. 'This type of dirt is my least favorite of the year. It was super fun being in that battle, going back and forth. Overall, with everything that went on, I'm just happy to be back on the podium.' Chase Sexton stalled the bike from the lead and then crashed trying to get the lead back on the last lap from the lead in the third Main event, losing the race, the overall and the red plate leaving Arlington. 'There's really not much to say,' said the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider. 'When I get on the plane out of here, leave that in Dallas and kind of try to move forward. I've been grinding pretty hard the last couple of weeks and maybe it's just time for some rest and come into Daytona fresh.' Justin Cooper was the second overall Yamaha rider with his fourth-place showing, including two podiums but losing the Olympic point tie breaker to Sexton. Justin Hill rounded out the top five. Justin Barcia, Plessinger, Dylan Ferrandis, Malcolm Stewart and Joey Savatgy completed the top 10 overall results. Round 8 of the SMX World Championship and the indoor stadium season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross heads back to Florida to Daytona Int'l Speedway. Malcolm Stewart Has Humble Response to Tampa Win
The win in Tampa may have finally sunk in for Malcolm Stewart a couple weeks later. 'I still have butterflies about it,' said Stewart to Athlon Sports. The Stewart brothers became the first family duo to win at the top level of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. For Malcolm, his first came in his 109th start at Raymond James Stadium. Two weeks later, the series visited AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for Round 7 of the SMX World Championship and indoor stadium season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. While a pivotal part of the season, Stewart couldn't help but still reflect on the biggest moment of his career. 'It was already two weeks ago but it feels like yesterday,' he continued. 'It's an awesome feeling to have that opportunity to finally win. For me, it was more of an influence on – it took me 108 starts or whatever, but I kind of feel like that is something that people can relate to on their daily lives. No matter how hard it is or how long it takes, never give up on your dreams. Winning that, I feel like I've influenced a lot of people.' That influence started close at home across the entire paddock with the respect of his fellow competitors. 'Honestly, I got like 250 text messages, so I couldn't even tell you who was (first),' said Stewart. Stewart, 32, did know his first thought to cross his mind. 'I just felt like it was, for me, more so just coming across that checkered flag with my brother in the booth,' he reminisced. 'My dad finally having (the) first two sons to ever win a Supercross race. As a father, what more can you ask? I always told myself I wanted to do it, and now, I finally crossed that off my list.' The last indoor stadium podium for 'Mookie' was in Denver back in 2022. Stewart's manufacturer Husqvarna holds one 450SX championship from 2018 with Jason Anderson. Celebrations of this kind are far and few between for the No. 27 Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing crew. And when those days do come, Stewart finds the balance of pride and humility. 'Just think about all the stuff you had to sacrifice to get that (win),' said the Florida native. 'That's a goal itself. Yeah, crossing that checkered flag first, winning that first race, I would say yes (it change my career). Did it change my life? No, but it made me acknowledge how far I came. I think (of) that appreciation of myself and all the people that believed in me. 'I accepted too that I may never win too, but I was okay with that. 'You've been in the league for 15 years. You made a lot of great friendships. You've been on a lot of great teams.' It's not always the winning side of things but looking how long you've done it and how far you've come along.' It truly was a homecoming win for Stewart. Growing up in Haines City just outside of Tampa, his first win couldn't have come at a better time in a better venue. Now in Arlington, the tides turn to the second half of the indoor season. Despite a career milestone, that humble nature of Stewart doesn't change one bit. 'I'm gonna do the same thing as I always do. Go out there and have fun.'
