Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finishing order, reaction at Birmingham, Nate Thrasher wins

At Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama, Nate Thrasher became the fifth winner in five rounds of Monster Energy Supercross 250 East competition and the ninth winner in 10 rounds of the East and West divisions combined — and he did so without winning a single feature. Thrasher used consistency in the form of a podium sweep in the Olympic-style scoring of the Triple Crown format and won via a tiebreaker with RJ Hampshire, who entered the final race with the lead. Thrasher finished third in the first two rounds and was second in the final race. This was his second overall win after taking a late-race lead from Garrett Marchbanks in San Diego, California, in January 2024. Hampshire entered the final race as the rider to beat, but he got hung up in traffic on the opening lap of the third race and completed Lap 1 in 10th. He progressed through the field rapidly until he got to fifth and could not close the distance on Daxton Bennick during the final seven trips around the track. Even so, he had a shot at victory. Bennick rode off course in the second half of the race and speculation abounded that the finish might be in question. Hampshire did not get a favorable opinion from the stewards. Tom Vialle showed the same kind of consistency in Birmingham as he has all season, finishing second, fifth, and third in the three races. Vialle entered the round with a one-point advantage over second place in the championship, but the title battle took a dramatic turn in qualification when Max Anstie landed awkwardly and broke his fibula. Anstie could not continue, and Vialle left Birmingham with a 10-point lead over Hampshire. Vialle is the defending 250 East champion; Hampshire won the 2025 West championship. Seth Hammaker's chance of winning back-to-back races was dealt an early blow when he crashed on Lap 1 of Race 1. Relegated to the back of the pack, he came halfway through the field and finished ninth. No longer in control of his fate, Hammaker did all he could by winning the final two races before finishing fourth overall. Bennick got off to a modest start with finishes of eighth and seventh in the first two races but found pace in the final feature. Given the slow start, he could be excused for wanting to pass the defending champion, Vialle, and he was a little over-enthusiastic in the middle stages while attempting a pass. Bennick might have drawn a penalty, but he used his head, did not gain an advantage, and maintained his position. Cameron McAdoo to undergo knee surgery; return timeline unknown

Cameron McAdoo will undergo knee surgery on Thursday to repair an ACL that was torn in a preseason crash. A timeline for his return has not been announced. 'Hey everyone; I wanted to jump on here and give you guys an update,' McAdoo said in a social media post. 'As you all know, I didn't race the main event in Daytona last weekend. After practice and after the heat race, there were just a few moments on track that really made me realize that I was very low on strength with my leg. Obviously, my safety and all the other riders on the track's safety is the important thing. For me to race at the highest level, it had become just not quite safe yet, so the team came together and made the decision to go get my knee fixed up. Despite the injury, McAdoo finished fifth in his heat race and would have had a mid-pack gate pick. 'As you guys all know, that was a really tough decision for me,' McAdoo continued. 'I always want to be out on the track and trying my hardest. That was tough, but it was just time, so this week I have surgery scheduled for Thursday. Looking forward to going in and getting fixed up. I'll keep you guys all updated with my recovery process, keep you in the loop and just looking forward to getting healthy and getting back out there.' In the most recent Monster Energy Supercross 250 East race, McAdoo crashed while riding sixth on Lap 15 and suffered facial lacerations. 'My knee has just not been strong enough today to safely race, and my safety, along with other riders on the track, is the most important,' McAdoo said in a press release immediately following the race. 'As everyone knows, I will always do everything I can to race, but it was not in the cards for us today.' Incredibly, McAdoo finished third in the 250 East opener in Tampa, but the strain of three rounds and any practice he could endure had a cumulative effect on the health of his knee. 'It is what it is,' McAdoo reflected on his injury to NBC Sports to Daytona prior to the Daytona race. 'The same as it was in Tampa. I have a fully torn ACL, so nothing is going to change a whole lot, but we're managing it well at this point.' Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finishing order, reaction at Daytona, RJ Hampshire wins

RJ Hampshire survived the third red flag in three Monster Energy Supercross 250 East rounds and held Tom Vialle at bay in Round 8 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It was his first win on the track in his home state. Scoring only four points in the season-opener in Tampa, Hampshire is slowly leaving the basement. He climbed to fourth in the standings with 25 points awarded for the victory. Only one marker stands between him and Chance Hymas in third. There is still a way to go to catch the red plate holder, Max Anstie, but Hampshire has it in his sights. Fans had the opportunity to watch Hampshire and defending Daytona winner Tom Vialle battle for the win. It was a matchup expected since Hampshire needed to switch coasts because of an off-season wrist injury and promises to be one of the most compelling storylines of 2025. Seth Hammaker rebounded from a disappointing round in Arlington, when he finished 17th overall, to take the final spot on the podium. Making the move into third in Daytona, he executed a thrilling pass through the air on Chance Hymas. Daytona used a split sand lane to allow riders a passing zone, but Hammaker and Hymas wanted the same line with three laps remaining. Hymas was denied the podium, but a fourth-place finish was a season-best for the rider still recovering from injury. Consistent sixth-place results at Tampa and Detroit place him third in the 250 East standings. Maximus Vohland rounded out the top five with his best performance of 2025. He struggled in Tampa with a 21st, barely cracked the top 10 in Detroit with a ninth, and was fifth at Daytona. Levi Kitchen had a solid run before a Lap 5 crash. He was riding third and misjudged a jump along the frontstretch straight. Kitchen was evaluated at the infield medical center and then transported to a local hospital where he was found to have suffered a broken collarbone. Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finishing order, reaction at Tampa, Max Anstie wins

In a chaotic Monster Energy Supercross 250 East season opener, Max Anstie inherited the lead when his Star Racing Yamaha teammate Pierce Brown crashed on Lap 6, necessitating a staggered restart with another Star racer, Daxton Bennick on his back tire. Anstie held the top spot for the remainder of the race and built an advantage of more than three seconds in the final nine laps to earn his third 250 divisional Supercross win. Anstie's first victory came in muddy conditions in East Rutherford in April, 2023, in an East / West Showdown with his second coming at Philadelphia last year. Bennick is off to a strong start for the second consecutive season after finishing third in the 2024 opener in Detroit, Michigan. Bennick struggled for most of the remainder of the 2024 season and cracked the top five only once more with a fourth in Philly. He exuded confidence from the podium in the post-race news conference and seems certain this year will be different. The rider in third put on one of the gutsiest performances of the weekend. Cameron McAdoo tore his ACL in a practice crash during the week and was riding injured. No one would have faulted him for taking it easy to merely accumulate points but he overcame a sixth-place starting position to ride into fifth before the Lap 7 restart. He got a good jump when the green flag waved and climbed into third immediately. McAdoo held onto that position until the checkers. Seth Hammaker completed Lap 1 in fourth-place and remained there for the duration of the race. Flying under the radar for much of the weekend, he is part of the stacked field of contenders in the Eastern division. Defending 250 East champion Tom Vialle overcame a poor start that had him seventh at the end of the first lap. The reset elevated him to fifth and he salvaged some points in the process. Dan Beaver, In the head-to-head battle with the 250 West titlist, Vialle came out on top of RJ Hampshire, who got hung up on a Tuff Blox on Lap 1 and lost a lap in the process. Hampshire earned minimal points with his 18th-place finish. Brown took the early lead and held it until he crashed violently on Lap 6. He was carted off the track by the Alpinestars Medical crew and credited with 20th-place points. Austin Forkner was another top contender with a disappointing night. He got a slow start and was barely inside the top 10 before he crashed immediately after the restart and finished 17th.
