Yash Begins Toxic Shoot After Wrapping Up Ramayana, To Perform His Stunts Without Help

Kannada star Yash has landed in Mumbai, where he has started shooting the next schedule of his upcoming movie Toxic. If a report by Mid-Day is to be believed, the actor arrived in the city on July 21 and is now shooting in Goregaon with Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Akshay Oberoi. Reportedly, Yash will be performing his stunts without the help of a body double. 'Last Monday, the new schedule kicked off in Film City, Goregaon. It will be largely indoors, where the actors will perform their stunts without the help of body doubles. It includes many sequences that involve hand-to-hand combat," a source cited by the news portal claimed. Besides this, a team of experts has also been hired, which is helping Yash in making his acting sequences raw and brutal. 'A team of 15 experts has been put together for safety and execution. They are helping the actors with close-cut scenes. The action in Toxic is raw, brutal, and grounded. In the hand-to-hand combat sequences, action directors JJ Perry and Giorgi Iarajuli have blended elements of Krav Maga, Filipino Kali, and MMA techniques to create a gritty style of action," the insider added. Meanwhile, Yash recently wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming movie, Ramayana. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial, which will also star Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, will feature Yash as Ravana. Recently, the teaser of the much-awaited film was also released. It began from the roots – the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who rule the world. With striking animation, the video then introduced characters from Ramayana – Lord Rama played by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Nitesh Tiwari's highly-anticipated epic tale- Ramayana is touted as the biggest Indian film ever made. Reason? Its staggering budget, exceptional VFX and terrific star-studded cast. Film's producer Namit Malhotra recently talked about the ambitious film and its budget. He revealed that all the production and marketing for both the installments of the film (Ramayana Part 1 and Ramayana Part 2) are done, and the costing is nothing less than staggering $500-million (Rs 4000 crore). Yes its unbelievable but true! The figure is higher than many Hollywood and Bollywood classics, naturally raising more than a few eyebrows. Interacting on The Prakhar Gupta Xperience podcast, Namit said, 'When we set out to make it, 6-7 years ago, when we really got serious about mounting it, everybody called me a lunatic, because no Indian film comes close to it budgetwise. To put it simply, it will be about $500 million by the time we are done with both the films – Part 1 and Part 2, which is over Rs 4000 crore.' He added, 'We are making the largest film in the world for the greatest story the world should see. I still think it is cheaper than some of the big Hollywood films. I think we are making a bigger film at a lower cost. That Indian in me still believes we are not being irresponsible with money.' Since the $500-million budget would mean that each of the two Ramayana films are assumed to earn $1 billion at the box office. These numbers have been scored by only global hits like Avatar, Avengers, Fast franchise etc at the box office. There is no Indian film that has ever grossed over Rs 2000 crore. In 2017, Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal grossed Rs 2000 crore, but over Rs 1300 crore came Internationally, specifically from China. The other highest-grossing Indian films like Pushpa 2: The Rise and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion , grossed over Rs 1700 crore worldwide. Moreover the makers will be using strong VFX for the larger-than-life theatrical experience. If the poor execution of visual effects or storytelling occur, it can affect the viewing experience and the film might appear cheap. Ramayana film must be handled with cultural sensitivity. If the fail doesn't resonate with the audience or capture the attention of the modern viewers, it can lead to negative views or box office disappointment. Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Supporting the powerful cast is an extraordinary crew. While the casting and production details have been confirmed, the salaries being circulated remain unconfirmed by the filmmakers and are based on media reports. Ranbir Kapoor, confirmed to play Lord Rama, is reportedly the highest-paid actor in the film. According to Kapoor is said to be earning ₹ 75 crore per instalment, bringing his total to a reported ₹ 150 crore for the two-part saga. Sai Pallavi, who has been officially cast as Maa Sita opposite Kapoor, is reportedly charging ₹ 6 crore per part. This would bring her total remuneration to ₹ 12 crore, as per the same reports. Kannada superstar Yash is confirmed to portray Raavan and is also producing the film under his own banner, Monster Mind Creations. He is reportedly earning ₹ 50 crore per instalment, making a total of ₹ 100 crore in acting fees, according to industry sources. Veteran actor Sunny Deol is officially playing Lord Hanuman in the mythological saga. As per a report by Republic, Deol is said to be receiving ₹ 20 crore per instalment, totalling ₹ 40 crore. Television actor Ravie Dubey has been cast as Laxman, the devoted brother of Lord Rama. While his role is confirmed, his reported fee ranges between ₹ 2 to ₹ 4 crore. It remains unclear whether this figure covers just one instalment or both. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Ramayana' is rooted in ancient Indian mythology and set nearly 5,000 years ago. The two-part epic is being mounted on a grand scale with confirmed release dates during successive Diwalis.
