What's On Montreal: Take a trip to Japan, meet your favourite celebs at Comiccon, dance to some blues

What's On Montreal's Lauren Fernandez has you covered with all your weekend activities across the Montreal area for the weekend. From food, to music, and even fundraising, there's a lot of ways to make the most of your weekend. Take a trip to Japan without having to leave the city at the Matsuri Festival happening on July 5 to 6. Expect delicious food, entertainment, and activities all weekend long at The Japanese Canadian Culture Centre of Montreal. On Sunday, it will also be Japan's turn to light Montreal's skies at the Loto-Quebec International Fireworks Competition. If you're looking to dance the night away, head to the West Island Blues Festival in DDO on Saturday. Enjoy live music out in the community until 11 p.m. on July 5. For jaw-dropping, creative, and colourful performances, check out the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival. From July 3 to 13, various streets around the city will become the stage for the high-flying circus festival. Fans of pop culture should head to the Palais des congrès for Montreal Comiccon. From July 4 to 6, meet celebrity guests from your favourite films and series, such as William Shatner and Elijah Wood. Or you can give back while being active at Le Week-end pour combattre le cancer. The event takes place on Sunday in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and participants can walk or ride in support of the Segal Cancer Centre.

What's on in Montreal for June 26, 2025 Summer festival season is here, and here's a list of what's on this week: Jazz Fest The Montreal International Jazz Festival is in high gear until July 5. In its 45th year, there are more than 350 concerts to choose from, many of which are free. It's the perfect opportunity to discover new and notable artists. Grammy award-winning rapper Nas will be in town for the festival, performing on June 28 and 29 at Place des Arts. Actor Jeff Goldblum brings his musical stylings to town alongside the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. June 30 is your chance to see them live at Place des Arts. There will be face painting, games and lots more fun for the whole family. Sugar Sammy Catch some stand-up comedy with international powerhouse Sugar Sammy. He's in town until June 22 at Salle Pierre-Mercure. Tickets start at $59.99 and are selling fast. You can find more information here. Strangers in the Night You can dine in style on June 21 at Complexe Pointe-Claire. The annual Strangers In The Night gala benefits the West Island Women's Shelter and Kat Demes Pavilion. The event also features The Beach Boys as a musical guest. General admission ticket prices start at $70. Get details on the 7 p.m. event here. Mondial de la Bière Mondial de la Bière is the perfect festival for beer-lovers. Discover new blends at Windsor Station from June 20-22. You can purchase tickets starting at $20 here. Festival of Colours For some outdoor fun, head to the Festival of Colours at Clock Tower Quay in Montreal's Old Port and experience the tradition of throwing coloured powder in celebration of joy and unity. There will also be live music. The event takes place on June 21 and 22 and is free for children under eight years old. Otherwise, tickets start at $16.79 and are available here. Amplified: The Immersive Rock Experience The immersive rock experience presented by Rolling Stone hits Montreal on June 20. It features music by David Bowie, Green Day, Joan Jett and more.
