Three men arrested in Lookout Point Place shooting incident
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Mooresville Police Department received a call for shots being fired in the area of Lookout Point Place Friday. The caller stated that people were shooting outside of their residence. Occupants of a Dodge Charger were reportedly exchanging gunfire with individuals on foot. Officers responded to the scene, and while they were arriving, a Dodge Charger was seen leaving the area. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, and two firearms were located. Three male occupants were in the Dodge Charger and were arrested on the following charges: Brandon Samir Adams, 18: Discharging a firearm in city limits Possession of Marijuana Ja`Cory Dashawn Kirkland,19: Discharging a firearm in city limits Justin Smith Davidson, 20: Discharging a firearm in city limits Possession of drug paraphernalia Felony possession of Marijuana Additional charges are coming. Officers are still looking for the individuals on foot who were involved in this incident and are continuing to investigate. Man charged with 10 counts of exploitation of a minor
A man has been charged in connection with the exploitation of a minor, according to the Mooresville Police Department. On April 25, police responded to the Waterlynn subdivision after receiving reports about material involving children being located at a suspect's home. ALSO READ: NC man behind 'Thank You Jesus' signs charged with exploitation of a minor A search of the home resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Miles Reid Morgan. Officials said electronic devices were seized from the residence, and further investigation is being conducted. Police said Morgan was charged with 10 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. Mooresville man lands 20 counts related to possession of child sexual abuse material
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mooresville man was charged last week with 20 counts related to possession of child sexual abuse material. According to the Mooresville Police Department, officers responded April 25 to the Waterlynn subdivision in reference to a report of explicit material involving children being located on a subject's devices. The department's Criminal Investigation Division reportedly located the reporting party as well as the reported Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Former Davidson College employee faces more peeping charges after alleged victim identifies herself in videos Upon discovery of this material, officers arrested 33-year-old Miles Reid Morgan, and conducted a search warrant on his residence. Additional electronic devices were reportedly seized from the residence and further investigation is being conducted. Morgan was charged with 10 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-Degree Exploitation of a Minor. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received a $1.2 million secured bond. Former Davidson College employee accused of peeping in Mooresville faces new charged in Charlotte
A former Davidson College employee who is accused of using a camera to secretly record inside campus bathrooms is now facing charges in Charlotte. Jeremy Michael Whitworth was arrested for one count of felony secret peeping by the Mooresville Police Department, Channel 9's Glenn Counts reported in November 2024. He was an electrician on the Davidson College campus, police said. Whitworth was taken to jail on Nov. 2, 2024. He was bailed out on a $10,000 bond. READ: Davidson College employee recorded women in bathrooms for years, police say MPD executed a search warrant after the arrest and found hard drives, computers, and cell phones that contained images and videos of women in different restrooms, including in his house and on campus. MPD Chief Ron Campurciani said the department collected dozens of videos going back 15 years. Police said Whitworth worked outside of Davidson College, and they are looking for more victims who may recognize him. Now, Whitworth is facing new charges from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. He is accused of peeping on one woman four times between May 2020 and February 2021, The Charlotte Observer reports. Police say Whitworth used his job to set up cameras in homes and Airbnbs. He is also accused of recording women's legs and feet inside stores and restaurants. Police ask that anyone who believes they may be a victim call 704-658-9021. Eight arrested in Mooresville crackdown on online child exploitation
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A multi-agency effort led by the Mooresville Police Department resulted in eight arrests tied to internet crimes against children. Dubbed 'Operation Millstone,' the initiative brought together 78 personnel from 21 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Those arrested ranged in age from 25 to 91 and allegedly used various online platforms to solicit minors. Charges include felony solicitation of a child by computer, with some suspects also facing charges for appearing to meet a minor. Mooresville Police said this operation was built upon 'Operation Artemis,' a 2024 investigation that led to 15 arrests. The eight individuals taken into custody include: Damon Jefferson, 25, Salisbury – Felony solicitation and appearing; $250,000 bond Judson Creech II, 36, Mooresville – Felony solicitation and appearing; $30,000 bond Jorge Armondo Martinez, 37, Charlotte – Felony solicitation and appearing; $30,000 bond Ismael Vazquez, 33, Charlotte – Felony solicitation and appearing; $30,000 bond James David Courtney, 91, Lexington, SC – Felony solicitation; $50,000 bond Eddie Rigdon, 72, Leland – Felony solicitation; $2,500 bond William Dane Tobey, 75, Salisbury – Felony solicitation and appearing; $30,000 bond Manuel Crispin Gonzalez, 35, Winston-Salem – Misdemeanor charges unrelated to solicitation; $1,000 bond Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
