Morgan Riley's swing wasn't the only thing making headlines at Eisenhower Golf Course. With a clutch final round and a five-under finish, the 2025 graduate from Raleigh walked off with his first Underrated Golf Tour win—and a share from none other than Stephen Curry in his Instagram story.
In a storm-tested performance, Riley brought real meaning to Curry's mission of leveling the playing field for junior golfers everywhere.
Underrated Golf Tour's mission comes alive through Morgan Riley's breakthrough win
At the scenic yet demanding Eisenhower Golf Course in the U.S. Air Force Academy, Morgan Riley, a 2025 high school graduate from Raleigh, North Carolina, recorded a solid 71 in Round 1. He then faced the tough conditions head-on with a remarkable 68 in Round 2, bringing his total to five under par at 139 to win the title.
Navigating through swirling winds and sporadic rain, Riley's triumph highlighted his skill under pressure—and he earned a notable shoutout from Stephen Curry, co-founder of the Underrated Golf Tour.
The avid golfer Curry has a 1.3 handicap, considering himself a golf junkie and playing a match with the President Obama, as well as victor in the 2023 American Century Championship.
In 2022, he joined forces with former pro Will Lowery to establish the Underrated Golf Tour, which aims to eliminate barriers and create opportunities for junior golfers from diverse backgrounds.

Riley's rise is a great example of that mission in action: a player advancing through the junior ranks and achieving his first title.
Before making it to the professional scene, Riley boasts a remarkable amateur record—he received a letter of intent from Harvard University and hit No. 74 in the AJGA rankings, achieving three top-five finishes in 2023 and a total of two top-10 AJGA results as of mid-2025. His five-under-par finish under tough conditions highlights his determination and promise for the future.
The Underrated Golf Tour isn't solely about winning once—it's a whole experience. Featuring tournaments across the U.S. and Europe, with stops in places like London (Surrey) and Scotland (Fairmont St Andrews), the tour concludes with the highly regarded Curry Cup championship. As the tour arrives at French Lick Resort, Indiana from July 2–4, everyone will be watching Riley to see if he can keep up this momentum and achieve back-to-back victories.
