'I didn't know that': Michael Strahan was left stunned when he found out a family secret from former GMA colleague
Image via Michael Le Brecht II/ABC via Getty Michael Strahan , the NFL legend, has always maintained a pretty close bond with his ex and present colleagues, including his former Good Morning America colleague, Sara Haines. The NFL legend has always praised his parents, Gene and Louise Strahan, for the upbringing they provided to him, but it seems like Sara Haines might have just revealed a family secret that even Michael Strahan did not know. Michael Strahan was left shocked when he got to know a family secret from ex colleague Sara Haines The Weekend View – May 24, 2025 Recently, Michael Strahan's ex colleague Sara Haines spoke about an incident related to the NFL legend's family that she got to know before Strahan. On The Weekend View, Sara Haines said, 'I went to shoot with his parents before his father died because I wanted … to give him time with his parents … where they just talked about him. They shared with me that they ate the pig.' The pig that Sara Haines was speaking about was a family pig that the Strahan family had while Michael Strahan was growing up along with his siblings. Sara Haines added, 'I come back and I'm giving Michael a hard time, as one would, and I joked about the pig. And he's like, 'What are you talking about?' He didn't know. He didn't know 'cause they were all young.' Apparently, as revealed by Sara Haines on The Weekend View, Michael Strahan had no idea that his family ate the pig they had. When Sara Haines informed Michael Strahan about this family secret, the NFL legend called up his parents. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Sara Haines continued, 'And he called his mom. And I was like, 'I didn't mean to betray the family trust! I just thought you told him!' While Michael Strahan has not commented on the incident yet, it seems like the incident did become a funny memory for the Strahan family later as his father passed away soon after they shared the incident with Sara Haines. Michael Strahan is taking a step back from some of his work As for Michael Strahan, the NFL legend is enjoying his life as he was recently spotted at the F1 Miami Grand Prix. It also seems like Michael Strahan might just be reducing his work as he recently announced that he would not be hosting the show, The $100,000 Pyramid anymore. Back in 2016, Michael Strahan and his production company, the SMAC Entertainment, had taken over The $100,000 Pyramid and the popular game show has had a pretty successful run. While it is not clear why Michael Strahan decided to step back, it has not been confirmed if the show will be renewed for a new season. United Airlines traveler check-in change starts in June
United Airlines is changing its check-in cutoff time ahead of the busy summer travel season. The Chicago-based airline will now require check-ins for domestic flights 45 minutes before departure, up from 30 minutes. The move, which applies to travelers without checked bags, starts June 3. 'The change brings greater consistency for our customers by aligning with our current checked baggage deadline and the check-in policies followed by most other airlines,' United told 'Good Morning America' via email. The 45-minute cutoff will generally apply to all United customers traveling with or without checked bags on domestic flights. For international flights, United passengers will have to check in 60 minutes before departure. In some cases, check-in times may vary, depending on the flight or airport destination, United said. 'Some airports or flights have special time limits which depend on location. If you don't meet your check-in time limits, we'll do our best to find another option,' United explains on its website, along with a list of locations with different cutoff times. 'However, we have the right to deny service which may result in cancellation of your reservation, denied boarding or the option to check your bags.' TSA recommends that travelers contact airlines for individual check-in times, which may change based on travel dates as well. Overall, travelers should factor in extra time for potential traffic and delays in travel to departing airports, time for check-in and boarding pass processes as well as screening and security checks.

‘I'm a patriot': Pentagon secrets leaker Jack Teixeira defends actions in interview
Jack Teixeira, the now 23-year-old serving a 15-year prison sentence for leaking classified documents on Discord, told 'Good Morning America' in an interview published Thursday morning that he did not regret his actions, and he never intended to harm his country. Teixeira, of North Dighton, was a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard who had access to top-secret documents as a cyber transport systems specialist at the Otis Air National Guard Base on Joint Base Cape Cod. Last March, he pleaded guilty to six counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information relating to the national defense. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani sentenced him to 15 years in prison. In the interview with ABC News' Linsey Davis, Teixeira said he felt a need to educate the American people about the country's involvement in Russia's war with Ukraine. 'My intent was to educate the United States populist people about what was going on. It was not to harm the United States or the country because I love my nation. I'm a patriot,' he said. 'I did believe that I needed to educate the people about what was going on because I believe they were being lied to.' He claimed the Biden administration was pushing false and misleading information about the war, and he wanted to show an 'unvarnished' look at what was taking place. At the sentencing hearing last November, Teixeira apologized for his actions. 'I understand that all of the responsibility and consequences falls upon my shoulders alone,' he said. 'My behavior has created such a maelstrom.' 'I can't really sum up how contrite I am,' he added. But in the interview with ABC, Teixeira struck a different tone. Teixeira said the apology was aimed at family and friends, but he didn't regret leaking the documents, and would do it all again. 'I still believe in my actions,' he said. 'I've tortured myself over and over and over again about what would happen if I didn't do this, or what would happen if this and that. And in reality, it doesn't really matter.' A lawyer representing Teixeira said at the hearing that his primary motivation was to share his experiences with a group of friends he found on Discord. Yet Teixeira told Davis that was a 'secondary motivation.' In the interview, Teixeira accused the Biden administration of politicizing his case. U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Joshua S. Levy, a Biden appointee, prosecuted Teixeira's case. 'I just feel like there are people who have done far worse things as far as what they did with similar information, and they didn't get as bad of a treatment as I did,' he said. 'I think that I was used as a sacrificial lamb, and I was crucified to be made of as an example.' In a press conference following Teixeira's sentencing, Levy said the full impact of his crime wouldn't be known for years. Texeira put himself over his country, and in doing so violated one of the core tenets of public service, Levy said. 'Jack Teixeira made the deliberate choice day after day, week after week, year over a year, to share the nation's secrets that were entrusted to him and make them available to all comers,' he said. 'He was callous to the fact that he put our national security at risk.' 'Today, Mr. Teixeira has paid a very heavy price for the laws he broke, or for the incredible damage that he caused,' Levy continued. Why Type C parenting is taking over TikTok and what it says about parenting today
If you've ever found your kid's favorite shirt in the dryer, rinsed a single fork for dinner or scheduled nap time like your life depended on it while forgetting where your debit card is, you might just be a Type C parent. The term, popularized by TikTok creator Ashleigh Surratt, is resonating with millions of parents online. Her viral video capturing the chaotic-yet-capable nature of this parenting personality has racked up over 4.5 million views, with other creators jumping in to share their own "Type C" moments. One mom confessed she was already planning her 3-month-old's first birthday party, while another showed off her well-stocked first aid kit, right before admitting she was too tired to make the bed. It's content that feels incredibly real for modern parents trying to balance it all, without pretending to have it all together. Most of us are familiar with the classic Type A and Type B personality types. Type A is highly organized, structured and punctual. Type B tends to be more relaxed, spontaneous and flexible. Type C parents? They're a mashup of both, often juggling the intensity of Type A energy with the messy realities of everyday life. "Being a Type C mom is the worst because in your soul you're Type A but life never lets you get there," one commenter joked. Marriage and family therapist Cheryl Groskopf, LMFT, LPCC, told "Good Morning America" this parenting style is intentional, not accidental. "You're choosing to loosen up in certain areas -- maybe the house isn't spotless, maybe dinner's frozen -- because you've realized that connection matters more than control," Groskopf said. "You still care. You're still showing up, just in a way that actually works for your real life." Tara Clark, podcast host and creator of Modern Mom Probs on Instagram, told "GMA" the Type C trend resonates deeply with her. "I can proudly say that I am a Type C because it's a more realistic approach and allows us to be human," she said. "No parent is perfect. No child is perfect. Being Type C allows for that flexibility. Of course, we have high standards but not at the cost of our child's mental health or our own." 'Maycember' is real: Here's how parents are surviving the chaos Clark added that she's experienced both ends of the spectrum. "When my son was a toddler, I was a total helicopter mom," she said. "Over time, I realized that it wasn't sustainable or healthy for either of us. Now, I am more laid-back in my approach and prioritize empowering my child. My favorite motto is 'step back, so they can step in.' It really strengthened our relationship and improved my confidence as a parent." She admitted she still experiences moments of uncertainty. "I've always had a strong handle on my son's schedule and commitments, but I definitely feel like I'm winging it when it comes to puberty, the tween dynamic, and that middle school life," she said. It's easy to confuse a laid-back parenting approach with being overwhelmed or checked out, but Groskopf said there's a critical difference. "This comes down to one thing," she said. "Are you letting go on purpose, or because you're out of fuel?" She continued, "Type C parenting is about choosing what matters and letting the rest be good enough. Burnout, on the other hand, is when you're so emotionally and physically depleted that even the basics feel impossible. You're not lowering the bar for peace, you're barely keeping your head above water." The simplest way to tell? "Can you still show up emotionally? If you're still connecting and responding with care, even when it's messy, that's Type C," Groskopf said. "If you feel numb or like you're disappearing, that's burnout." Groskopf said the magic of Type C parenting lies in balancing consistency with compassion. "Structure tells kids, 'You're safe. I've got you.' Emotional flexibility tells them, 'You're allowed to be human.' When you blend both, kids learn they don't have to be perfect to be loved, and that builds real trust." Too much structure without empathy can lead to shame or anxiety. Too much flexibility without predictability can create confusion. "The balance teaches kids that the world can be unpredictable and still safe," Groskopf said. "You're not raising a robot. You're raising a human who knows how to adapt, feel and stay connected, because they saw you do it." Feeling like you're stuck between who you want to be and who you actually are as a parent? That's normal. And according to Groskopf, it's something to honor, not fight. "If you're someone who thrives on order and control, parenting can feel like constant failure," she said. "But you're not failing, you're in a new season that requires different tools." Her advice? Grieve the fantasy of what you thought parenting would look like. "Letting go of that fantasy doesn't mean you're giving up," she said. "It means you're making space for what's real in the moment." That doesn't mean giving up your strengths. "Your Type A side doesn't have to disappear," she said. "Let it help where it helps, making systems, solving problems, but don't let it run the whole show. Blend it with compassion and flexibility." Type C parenting isn't a failure or a fallback, it's often the most balanced approach of all. It's about creating safety without rigidity, showing up without burning out, and giving your kids (and yourself) room to be real. As Groskopf put it, "Think of it as a mix of intentional structure and emotional flexibility, which, by the way, is basically the holy grail of good-enough parenting." So if your laundry is still in the dryer, your kid's bedtime is nonnegotiable, and you're surviving on snacks and grace? Congratulations. You might just be a Type C parent, and you're doing better than you think. Why Type C parenting is taking over TikTok and what it says about parenting today originally appeared on
