Blenheim woman scratches her way to $250,000
An Instant Crossword Deluxe scratch ticket has led to $250,000 for a Blenheim woman.
Deborah Newton, who is retired, enjoys playing OLG scratch tickets, particularly Crossword, but also likes to play Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49.
'I was at home when I played my ticket and discovered it was a winner,' she said.
'At first, I thought I'd won $25,000 and was so excited.'
When she took her ticket to the store to validate it, using the self-checker first.
'I saw the prize amount on the screen and realized I'd actually won $250,000!' she said.
'It was a jaw-dropping moment. I was surprised and very happy.'
She told her husband who was just as shocked as her.
She plans to buy a new car, do some renovations, and invest in her future.
The ticket was bought at Morning Calm Convenience on Talbot Street in Blenheim.
