Paris Jackson hits out ahead of anniversary of dad Michael's death
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Kids. Followed categories will be added to My News. Paris Jackson gave a sarcastic 'f**k you' to the critics who are slamming her for scheduling a performance gig on the anniversary of father Michael Jackson's death. 'So, people are mad again,' the singer began a series of videos shared to her Instagram Stories on Friday. 'One of the tour dates I'm supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family.' On Wednesday, June 25, the musician is scheduled to perform at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The date coincidentally falls on the 16-year anniversary of her dad's death. The pop icon died at age 50 on June 25, 2009 after suffering a heart attack caused by a drug overdose. 'So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that when you're first of three, and you're not headlining these shows, you don't pick what date you perform or what time you go on stage to perform, or what city you perform in,' she continued, adding that the decision was made by the 'big boss' headliner. You get maybe a sprinter van, which I've done before when I've got a band with me. But I'm not going to have my band with me this time,' she said. 'It's just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiance,' she added, referring to Justin Long, whom she confirmed her engagement to in December 2024. 'So we're gonna be in a soccer mum van.' Paris, 27, further explained how her contribution to the tour does not guarantee her any favouritism as she recalled her previous experience touring with the band being 'one of the hardest f**king things' she's ever done. Picture: AFP PHOTO/GABRIEL BOUYS/POOL 'Also, why the f**k would I make a big fuss about it?' she asked, noting that the whole reason why she wound up on the tour was because she pitched herself as an additional opening act. 'This feels like [Incubus is] doing me a favour by bringing me out on tour,' she shared. 'So [what], I'm gonna tell 'em, 'Sorry, guys, we can't perform on this date?'' she added sarcastically, telling her critics, 'F**k you.' Paris was announced as one of the opening acts alongside Manchester Orchestra on Incubus' Morning View + The Hits Tour in the US and UK in March. 'Beyond excited to have @parisjackson out on our [tour],' the band wrote in an Instagram post announcing the news. 'Can't wait to see you all there.' Brandon Boyd: Incubus' New Album Is Done and Will Likely Be Released in October
The post Brandon Boyd: Incubus' New Album Is Done and Will Likely Be Released in October appeared first on Consequence. Incubus' long-awaited ninth album will see the light of day in 2025, marking their first new full-length LP in eight years. Singer Brandon Boyd has revealed that the album is recorded, mixed, and mastered — and just about 'ready to go.' That said, fans will have to stick it out for several more months until a likely October release as the album goes through the standard promotion cycle, with a single or two dropping beforehand. Get Incubus Tickets Here 'We actually finished the album, I guess about, a little over two months ago,' Boyd told FluxFM in a new interview (as transcribed by The PRP). 'And it's like mastered, it's mixed, it's just ready to go. We're working on the artwork for it. The sad part about finishing the album in this day and age is that, as much as I would like to just put it out; I would love to put it out tomorrow, and we could put it out tomorrow, but it would get just lost in the shuffle of the internet, you know what I mean?' The singer continued, 'And even if… we're gonna do like setup work for it and it's probably gonna come out in October. So there will be a single that'll come out before October, probably in the next few months, there'll be a single. …Even with all of the setup that we're gonna do, it most likely will still get lost in the internet [laughs]. Because it's the internet.' Boyd added that the forthcoming album was produced by the band's longtime studio cohort Brendan O'Brien, who produced the three Incubus albums from 2004 through 2011, as well as Boyd's Sons of the Sea side-project. 'He's my favorite producer that I've ever worked with, and I'm so happy that we got to re-engage with him for this experience,' Boyd said. 'It happened really fast, which is always a good sign for us. When an album comes together, like quickly, it means that we have gotten into a flow state of sorts.' Boyd then lauded new bassist Nicole Row, appearing on her first Incubus LP: 'Sshe knocked it out of the park. We're all totally in love with her, and she's become a very fast asset to the band. We're really, really happy that she jumped on board. So, yeah, it's, it's a lot of fun.' The forthcoming album will be the follow-up to Incubus' 2017 LP, simply titled 8. The band did release an EP of new music titled Trust Fall (Side B) in 2020. Incubus are also set to hit the road in the months ahead, kicking off a new North American leg of their 'Morning View + The Hits Tour' in June. Get tickets here.
