Tapestry Health and Craig's Doors receive $150K grant to expand harm reduction services

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Tapestry Health and Craig's Doors have been awarded $150,000 through the Mosaic Opioid Recovery Partnership Grant. The funding was awarded to these organizations through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, and RIZE Massachusetts Foundation. They also received $150,000 in municipal matching funds from Amherst, Northampton, and Easthampton through the Opioid Settlement Abatement Funds. MSPCA-Angell provides care to dogs rescued from Springfield fire Tapestry Health and Craig's Doors will partner through the Hampshire Public Health Shared Services Collaborative (HPHSS), a regional partnership that aims to coordinate public health efforts. 'We are incredibly grateful to the Mosaic Opioid Recovery Partnership and the municipalities ofNorthampton, Amherst, and Easthampton for their generous support,' said Mavis Nimoh, CEOof Tapestry Health. 'This combined $300,000 funding will allow us to significantly expand ourcommunity-led harm reduction initiatives and reach more individuals in need, particularly thosein rural areas who often face barriers to accessing essential services. By partnering with Craig'sDoors, we are creating a stronger, more comprehensive network of care across HampshireCounty.' Tapestry plans to use its harm reduction program alongside Craig's Doors' homeless services to connect homeless individuals in Hampshire County with harm reduction services, healthcare, housing, and transportation services. The initiative will provide this partnership the opportunity to increase life-saving resources to the following towns in Hampshire County: Amherst Chester Chesterfield Cummington Easthampton Granby Hadley Hatfield Huntington Middlefield Northampton Plainfield Southampton Worthington 'This funding is crucial in our ongoing mission to provide safe and supportive environments forindividuals facing substance use challenges and houselessness,' said Tim McCarthy, ExecutiveDirector of Craig's Doors.
