Iran rises to eighth in global cell therapy rankings

Iran has advanced to eighth place globally in the field of stem cells and cell therapy, up from twelfth last year, following a significant increase in approved products and ongoing technological developments in the health sector. This is reported by TV BRICS.
According to Mostafa Qanei, an official with the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, the country's market now includes five cell therapy products, compared to just one in the previous year. 'Our goal is to be among the top five countries in the world in this field,' he said at a press conference in Tehran focused on healthcare achievements.
Saeed Sarkar, an official with the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, announced that 20 health-related technological projects are planned for the current Iranian year, which ends in March 2026. These include the domestic production of drugs for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), the development of early detection kits for digestive cancers, and other products.
