Shane van Gisbergen will try to join Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott as the only Cup drivers to win four consecutive road or street course races Sunday at Watkins Glen International. With wins this season at Sonoma Raceway, the streets of downtown Chicago and Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, van Gisbergen also can tie Denny Hamlin for the series lead in victories with a win at Watkins Glen. Elliott won four consecutive road course races from 2019-20 (Watkins Glen, twice at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, Daytona International Speedway). Gordon holds the all-time mark of six consecutive road-course wins from 1997-2000 at Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen. NASCAR Friday schedule at Watkins Glen International
The ARCA and Truck series will race Friday at Watkins Glen International as the road course in New York opens its annual NASCAR weekend. After practicing and qualifying from 10 to 11:20 a.m., ARCA will race at 2 p.m. The Truck series will practice and qualify from 11:35 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. before racing at 5 p.m. There will be four Cup drivers in the Truck race: Chris Buescher, Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch and Ross Chastain. Dustin Long, Xfinity full-time driver Connor Zilisch will be racing in the Truck race (and in Sunday's Cup race). Zilisch also is the defending winner of the ARCA race but is absent from that entry list. The Truck series' most recent race at Watkins Glen International was on Aug. 7, 2021 when Austin Hill won an event that was shortened by lightning. How to watch Sunday's Cup race at Chicago: Start time, TV info, weather
The In-Season Challenge rolls into its second round in the third edition of the Chicago Street Race, which will attempt to go the full distance for the first time. Rain heavily impacted the Cup Series' first two races on the streets of downtown Chicago. Shane van Gisbergen took the inaugural checkered flag on the third lap of overtime as darkness approached. A scheduled 5 p.m. ET start was delayed by afternoon storms, shortening the race from 100 to 75 laps. Last year's race was reduced from 75 to 58 laps because of inclement weather. After a 4:30 p.m. ET start was delayed by an hour, a midrace downpour brought a red flag on Lap 26 for standing water on the course. After another delay for a shower, Alex Bowman took the victory. With an earlier start time of 2 p.m. ET, the 2025 race has a better chance of reaching its scheduled duration of 75 laps even with delays. Chicago will be the second round of the In-Season Challenge. How to watch Saturday's Xfinity race at Chicago: Start time, TV info and weather
The Xfinity Series will return to the streets of downtown Chicago for a 50-lap event Saturday. Last year's race was won by Shane van Gisbergen, who led 14 laps and finished 1.287 seconds ahead of full-time Cup drivers Ty Gibbs and Kyle Larson. Jesse Love also led 14 laps in a fifth-place finish last year for Richard Childress Racing. How to watch Saturday's Xfinity race at Pocono: Start time, TV info and weather
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will return to Pocono Raceway for its longest race on the 2.5-mile track since 2019. Saturday's race is scheduled for 100 laps (250 miles) at Pocono, whose past five Xfinity Series races were scheduled for 90 laps. The Xfinity Series' 2016-19 races at Pocono were scheduled for 100 laps. Cole Custer won the June 1, 2019 race that was extended to 103 laps by a late caution flag. Custer also won the Xfinity race at Pocono last year but won't return to defend after moving back up to the Cup Series this season. Austin Hill (who won at the 2.5-mile track in 2023) is the only past Xfinity winner at Pocono in the field.
