The mid-range Motorola Edge (2025) has a US release date and price tag attached to its name at last

The moment many of Motorola's cash-strapped US-based fans have been waiting for so long has finally arrived. After releasing no less than five different Edge 60 series smartphones across Europe and Asia over the last few months, the Lenovo-owned brand is (just about) ready to start taking your order for a single new Edge model stateside. Unimaginatively dubbed the Motorola Edge (2025), this unsurprisingly follows in the footsteps of the mid-range US-centric Edge (2024) with a middling set of specs and features of its own largely inspired by the "regular" Edge 60 rather than the higher-end Edge 60 Pro. 6.7-inch Super HD p-OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate technology and up to 4500 nits brightness; MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor; Android 15 ; ; 8GB RAM; 256GB internal storage space; 50MP primary rear-facing camera with Sony LYTIA 700C sensor; 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with built-in Macro Vision technology; 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x Super Zoom; 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus; 5,200mAh battery; 68W TurboPower wired charging support; 15W wireless charging capabilities; Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection; IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance; MIL-STD-810H certification; Under-display fingerprint sensor; Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology and Hi-Res certified sound; Side-mounted AI Key; Next Move, Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, Remember This AI features; 161.19 x 73.06 x 7.99mm dimensions; 181 grams weight; Vegan leather finish; Pantone Deep Forest color. If you want a state-of-the-art alternative to the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra or Google's Pixel 9 Pro XL, you're going to have to look elsewhere. As budget 5G phones go, however, this is a pretty compelling value proposition at a recommended US price of $549.99 (with no strings attached, of course). The Edge 2025 looks familiar but decidedly snazzy in its lone US color option. | Image Credit -- Motorola Compared to the Motorola Edge (2024), which also started at $550 around this time last year, the Edge (2025) comes with an extra rear-facing snapper, a slightly larger but curiously enough slightly less smooth screen, an evidently improved selfie camera, a bit more battery juice, a more robust construction, and an added physical button. Oh, and of course, a different processor, although Motorola has chosen the MediaTek route instead of the more popular Qualcomm path this time around. All in all, this certainly qualifies as a satisfactory list of upgrades, which doesn't make it any less painful for Android power users to see Motorola "forget" about an Edge+ flagship yet again. After establishing what devices Motorola's new US mid-range soldier should not be compared with, let's talk about this bad boy's actual rivals for a bit. First up, there's Google's $499 Pixel 9a. That's clearly the better choice from a long-term software support standpoint, but its 6.3-inch display might prove a little... cramped for some of you fine bargain hunters out there. Which brings me to Samsung's 6.7-inch Galaxy S24 FE. Now that's an expansive budget-friendly flagship, but if you're not lucky to find it at a discount, its $650 starting price (with only 128GB storage) could feel a little steep for most prospective Motorola Edge (2025) buyers. Speaking of discounts, history suggests Motorola might have some launch surprises up its sleeve, so be sure to watch out for those and maybe not rush to pay the full 550 bucks as soon as the Edge (2025) goes on sale in the US on June 5. That release date is good for unlocked units available directly from the handset's manufacturer, as well as major third-party retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. As far as carriers go, T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile , Total Wireless, Visible, Spectrum, and Xfinity Mobile are the only ones officially confirmed to pick up the phone "in the coming months."

Hefty discount at Motorola slingshots the mid-range Edge (2024) into the budget segment!

High-end smartphones like the iPhone 16 Pro and the Galaxy S25 Ultra—which can currently be yours for up to $870 off with a trade-in, by the way—are worth every penny. However, the problem is that you usually have to drop a serious amount of cash to rock one of these bad boys. And that's hardly a great financial move if all you need is a solid phone for everyday tasks like calls and watching videos. A smarter choice would be to go for a mid-range phone —ideally, one that's heavily discounted. Trade-in $249 99 $549 99 $300 off (55%) Motorola is slashing $200 off the price of its mid-range Edge (2024), bringing it down to just $349.99. And if you trade in your old phone, you can snag an extra $100 off! Packed with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and 8GB of RAM, this phone delivers smooth, speedy performance—making it an absolute steal at this price. Act fast before this deal disappears! Buy at Motorola For instance, the Motorola Edge (2024) is a great pick right now, selling for a whopping $200 off on This allows you to get one for only $349.99, down from its usual price of around $550. On top of that, you can trade in your old handset to score extra savings. Motorola claims that it offers a $100 trade-in discount on most phones. Truth be told, this isn't a new promo. Motorola has been offering this same $200 discount—$300 with the trade-in—for quite a while now. However, the Motorola Edge (2024) is one of the best mid-range phones on the market and is a steal at its current sub-$350 price. So, while the offer isn't brand-spanking-new, we believe it's still quite unmissable. Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and 8GB of RAM, it is built to tackle just about any task with ease. Even demanding games like League of Legends: Wild Rift run smoothly. In addition, it comes with a stunning 6.6-inch P-OLED display featuring a sharp 2400 x 1080 resolution, HDR10+ support, and impressive 1300-nit brightness. Whether you're streaming HDR content or just enjoying regular YouTube videos, you'll enjoy a pleasant viewing experience without breaking the bank. Plus, with its buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, the phone feels fast and its incredible display and firepower, our friend here also delivers when it comes to camera performance. It boasts a 50MP main snapper, which captures impressive photos—especially for a camera on a device priced at just $349.99. However, since it misses out on a telephoto lens, zooming in may lead to a loss of sharpness and detail. Nevertheless, the Edge (2024) offers outstanding value at its current price on The deal gets even better when you factor in the generous trade-in discount, making it an irresistible bargain. If you're looking for a fast and reliable mid-range phone at a great price, this is your chance! But don't wait too long—the offer won't last forever!

Motorola Edge 2025 elevates its camera game with a new telephoto lens

Motorola TL;DR The 2025 version of the Motorola Edge is here. This year's model adds a telephoto lens to its camera setup. The battery has been upgraded from 5,000mAh to 5,200mAh. When Motorola released the Edge in 2024, it was largely an iterative update compared to its predecessor. Still, it was a serviceable handset with a consumer-friendly price to match. This year, it's a slightly different story, as the 2025 Edge offers multiple upgrades over the previous generation without pushing up the cost. In terms of design, the 2025 Motorola Edge plays it safe, adopting a similar design language to last year. As a result, we get rounded corners, curvy edges, a smoothed-out camera bump, and a leather-inspired finish like before. For the finish, Motorola has chosen a dark green hue called PANTONE Deep Forest. Outside of the new color, there is one big change to the design. Motorola has moved up from dual cameras to a triple camera setup, which results in a larger bump. This time around, Motorola decided to add a telephoto lens along with the main and ultrawide cameras. As before, the main camera is a 50MP shooter with a Sony Lytia 700c sensor. However, the ultrawide has been upgraded from 13MP to 50MP, featuring a 122-degree field of view. Meanwhile, the telephoto lens offers 10MP for three times optical zoom and up to 30x with Super Zoom. Motorola also improved the front camera, going from 32MP to 50MP. Shifting our focus to the display, the screen is slightly bigger than last year at 6.7 inches. This is a Super HD (2712 x 1220) pOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits of brightness. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which the phone maker says is two times more resistant to drops and scratches. This device also features Dolby Atmos, so you'll have high-quality sound to enhance your video watching experience. Under the hood, you'll find a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip joined by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There's also a 5,200mAh battery, which is a 2oomAh improvement from last year. The company boasts that the battery can last two days, but you'll be able to power up for one full day in just six minutes with 68W TurboPower wired charging. You can also wirelessly charge this device, but only up to 15W. As with most tech companies these days, Motorola also points out the phone's AI capabilities. In 2024, this mostly consisted of features offered by Google, like Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and more. Speaking of which, this device will also come with Gemini Live and Circle to Search. However, Motorola now has a few of its own AI tools in addition to Google's suite. These features include: Next Move: Recognizes whatever is on your screen, like a recipe, and offers next steps in real time. In addition, there's a new AI key on the side of the phone that you can use to access these AI features. This new button replaces the Quick Button that was added in 2024. The Motorola Edge 2025 will be available in the US and Canada on June 5 for $549.99. It will feature IP68 and IP69 protection and have Android 15 onboard. You'll be able to order one from Best Buy, and Availability at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile, Total Wireless, Visible, Spectrum, and Xfinity Mobile will open up in the coming months. Got a tip?
