Rahil fights off a strong challenge to win Pro-Stock 301-400cc race
Rahil Pillarisetty and Savion Sabu hogged the limelight with contrasting victories in the two premier Pro-Stock categories as the Rolon Round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship concluded at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Sunday. While 27-year-old Rahil (RACR Castrol Power1) fought off a strong challenge to win the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race, Savion swept to a comfortable victory, his second of the weekend, for Mad Rabbit Racing team. Savion's teammate Varun Patil topped the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) race for his second win in four starts this season. Raj Kumar took the honours in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate as he led a 1-2 finish for Motul Sparks Racing with Mohamed Samrul Zubair in tow. Meanwhile, Daniel Lalhriatkima and Johring Warisa scripted history of sorts by delivering a first double podium for Yakuza Racing India, which was formed only this year. Daniel finished first and Johring came in third behind Hari Haran (RACR Castrol Power1) in the Stock 165cc (Novice) race. Sarthak scores fighting win, Jagathishree scores a grand triple
Pune teenager Sarthak Chavan (Petronas TVS Racing) pulled off a brilliant win, his second in three starts, in the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category at the Rolon Round of the MRF-MMSC FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Saturday. Starting from third on the grid, 18-year-old Sarthak survived some close calls and contacts with pole-sitter, Hyderabad's Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1), who eventually finished third behind Chennai teenager Johann Reeves Emmanuel (Motul KTM Gusto Racing India) to win an incident-filled 10-lap race. Later, One Racing's Jagathishree Kumaresan, the 21-year-old from Chennai, won all three races she took part in. The defending champion won both her outings in the Girls' Stock 165cc category of the National Championship and, in between, topped the women's race in the Petronas TVS India One-Make Championship. Rahil Pillarisetty grabs pole position with a stunning lap
Hyderabad's Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) delivered a stunning lap late in the qualifying session to take pole position in the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category to kick start his campaign in the Rolon Round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2025 at the Kari Motor Speedway, here on Friday. Others who qualified for pole positions in their respective National championship categories were: Raj Kumar (Coimbatore, Motul Sparks Racing) in Super Stock 165cc Intermediate; Mohamed Mikail (Thiruvallur, Mad Rabbit Racing) in Stock 301-400cc (Novice) and Charu Sreekara Kedarnadh (Tirupati, Motul KTM Gusto Racing India) in Stock 165cc (Novice). The 27-year-old Pillarisetty's best lap of one minute, 10.972 secs which he clocked at the fag end of the session saw him pip Petronas TVS Racing's teenaged riders, Chiranth Vishwanath from Bengaluru and defending champion Sarthak Chavan (Pune) with less than a second separating the front-row trio. 'I am happy to be back on the Yamaha R3 after a few seasons on KTM. I had a good lap today, but it is all so close, and I look forward to tomorrow's race,' said 27-year-old Rahil who announced his presence on the grid in the first round in June when he won Race-2, holding off Sarthak in a tense finish. Chiranth, the 17-year-old Bengalurean said: 'I had some issues with my bike, but Rahil was quick. I am not happy with P2 for tomorrow's race. Hopefully, I will do better.' Sarthak, 18, shrugged off his P3 qualification. 'The pressure will be on him (Rahil) tomorrow. I will try to do my best in the race,' he said. Jammu's Raivat Dhar qualified for pole position in the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup (Honda CB300F), while in the Petronas TVS India One-Make Championship, Chennai's Mohan Babu (Expert), and Jagathishree Kumaresan (Women), also from Chennai, grabbed pole positions in their respective classes. Rahil, Savion Sabu grab pole positions in Pro-Stock categories
Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) ended his four-year wait for pole position as he topped qualifying in the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc category in the first round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) here on Friday. Later, riding under dark rain clouds, the 17-year-old Savion Sabu (Mad Rabbit Racing) qualified for pole position in the Pro-Stock 165-200cc, the new class this season. Equally impressive was 22-year-old Lal Nunsanga (Motul Sparks Racing), who grabbed pole position in the Novice (Stock 165cc) class. It was his first pole in six years, the last being in the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup. Mohamed Mikhail (Mad Rabbit Racing), a graduate from the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup, also qualified for the pole position in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) class.
