These included the Head of Government, the National Defense Administration Minister, the Royal Gendarmerie Commander, the Chief of the FAR's 3rd Bureau, the Royal Air Forces Inspector, the Royal Navy Inspector, and the Delegated Arms Commander for the Rabat-Sale area. King Mohammed VI launches strategic disaster response platform in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra

DR King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, inaugurated the construction of the essential goods reserve platform for the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region on Wednesday, in the commune of Ameur (Salé prefecture). This project embodies the Moroccan vision of resilience and rapid mobilization in the event of disasters. It aligns with the royal directives aimed at equipping each region of the Kingdom with a storage platform for essential goods—tents, blankets, beds, medicines, foodstuffs—to ensure an immediate response to crises such as floods, earthquakes, or industrial accidents. The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra platform will be built on a 20-hectare site, with a completion timeline of 12 months and a budget of 287.5 million dirhams. It will notably include four warehouses of 5,000 m² each, two shelters for oversized equipment of 2,500 m², a helipad, and several parking areas. This project is part of a comprehensive national program, presented to the Sovereign on this occasion, which plans for the creation of twelve similar platforms with a total investment of 7 billion dirhams: 2 billion for infrastructure and 5 billion for the acquisition of equipment and relief products. These platforms will collectively cover an area of 240 hectares and will house 36 warehouses, with their size adjusted to the population density and risk profile of each region. For the six most populous regions—Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Marrakech-Safi, Fès-Meknès, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Souss-Massa—the platforms will include four warehouses totaling 20,000 m² each. The other six regions—the Oriental, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Drâa-Tafilalet, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab—will have two warehouses totaling 10,000 m². The planned stocks are intended to enable a rapid response in case of disaster, meeting the rescue, aid, and victim care needs, in line with the proactive royal vision. The planned equipment covers several areas: emergency housing with 200,000 versatile tents, camp beds, mattresses, and blankets; feeding the victims through mobile kitchens and bakeries, and food kits; supplying drinking water and electricity thanks to purification systems and mobile generators; developing intervention capacities to combat floods, earthquakes, landslides, mudslides, or chemical and radiological risks. The medical component plans for the reserve of six field hospitals with 50 beds in a first phase, and six more in a second, with operating modules and specialized services. Advanced medical posts will be installed on the disaster sites, complementing reserves of medicines adapted to immediate needs. These platforms will strengthen national emergency infrastructures, streamline the delivery of aid, and improve the Kingdom's ability to face crises. They will also allow for the creation of sufficient reserves to meet three times the needs generated by the Al Haouz earthquake. The program will further contribute to structuring a national ecosystem for the production of relief equipment. The sites have been chosen based on security criteria, following a detailed analysis of regional needs and risks, relying on the best practices and international standards.

Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Celebrates His 22nd Birthday

Rabat – On Thursday, the Kingdom of Morocco will observe the 22nd birthday of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, an occasion that reaffirms the enduring continuity of the Alaouite Dynasty and the strong, time-honoured connection between the royal family and the Moroccan people. Born on May 8, 2003 at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was named in honor of his grandfather, the late King Hassan II. The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery officially announced his birth, and the nation welcomed the news with joy, symbolizing not only the continuation of royal heritage but also a new chapter in the life of the Kingdom. Tomorrow, as Prince Moulay El Hassan turns 22, he has increasingly assumed a visible and dignified role in national life. His growing presence at key events reflects both his preparedness and his deep sense of responsibility toward public service and state affairs. On April 21, 2025, the Crown Prince presided over the opening of the 17th edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Meknes. This year's edition carried the theme 'Agriculture and the Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development', bringing forward Morocco's ongoing efforts toward ecological balance and resilient agricultural practices. Earlier, on 3 March, the prince joined Princess Lalla Khadija to launch the Ramadan 1446 food distribution campaign. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity orchestrated the initiative. It reached over one million households and reaffirmed the royal family's steadfast commitment to social welfare, particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan. The Crown Prince has also played an increasingly prominent role in Morocco's diplomatic engagements. Last November, he received Chinese President Xi Jinping during a short visit to Morocco, a significant gesture in the context of bilateral relations. In the cultural sphere, the Crown Prince presided over the Grand Prix of Tbourida at the El Jadida Horse Show, welcomed young participants from Jerusalem at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, and took part in commemorations marking the 25th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne. These appearances form a clear portrait of a young royal rising to his role with assurance, quietly earning the admiration of the public and the respect of institutions. Yet tomorrow's significance lies not in ceremony, but in celebration. As the Crown Prince marks his 22nd year, Moroccans reflect not only on his noble lineage but also on the promise of a future shaped by dedication and continuity. It is a day of shared pride and joy, one that honors the past and welcomes the years ahead.

Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Inaugurates Morocco's 17th International Agriculture Fair in Meknes

Rabat – Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan opened the 17th International Agriculture Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM) on Monday in Meknes, marking the start of a week-long event dedicated to the future of farming and rural development. This year's edition centers on agriculture and water at the heart of sustainable development in rural regions. The opening ceremony noted the strategic place agriculture holds in Morocco's national priorities. The crown prince's presence reflected the broader momentum driven by the monarchy to address global concerns such as food security, ecological balance, and long-term sustainability. The prince arrived at Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani to a formal welcome by a Royal Guard detachment, followed by greetings from senior officials including the agriculture minister, regional governors, elected representatives, and key figures from Morocco's agricultural and rural development bodies. French Minister Delegate Benjamin Haddad welcomed the prince at the exhibition entrance, as France holds the title of guest of honor at this year's SIAM. Delegations from across Africa and the Middle East also attended, representing countries such as Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Uganda, and Palestine. Institutions like ICESCO and the World Water Council stood among the international development partners taking part. The crown prince walked through the 'Regions' pavilion, met with regional council leaders, and visited the spaces dedicated to water management, irrigation technologies, and agricultural innovation. He later moved through the exhibition's main thematic areas, which span everything from food industries and agri-tech to environmental conservation and livestock inputs. Held across 12.4 hectares in the historical heart of Meknes, this edition of SIAM brings together 70 countries and over 1,500 exhibitors. The event offers a window into Morocco's agricultural ambitions, featuring advanced machinery, new farming techniques, and a wide range of regional products. Moreover, SIAM hosts scientific talks and expert-led panels that open discussion on how Morocco and its partners can face climate challenges while preserving agricultural ecosystems. Organizers strive to promote lasting food sovereignty by encouraging exchange between researchers, institutions, and entrepreneurs. Over the years, SIAM has grown into one of Africa's most prominent agricultural events, drawing thousands of visitors and industry professionals. It stands as a trade fair as well as a space where rural development strategies take shape, partnerships begin, and policy direction gains clarity.
