Former model Kathy Ireland revealed she ‘stalked' her husband before dating
Kathy Ireland has revealed how she 'stalked' her doctor husband at his hospital for months before she landed a first date. The former model explained on the MovieGuide Awards red carpet how she landed Dr. Greg Olsen and the help she got from her mother along the way. 'I was having lunch with my mom who was a nurse, saw this cute guy walk by, and it turns out he was a doctor in his residency,' she told Fox. 'So, I go back to the hospital, mom would find out his beeper code, and we'd wait around [and] just go to the different floors where we thought we might find him.' Ireland continued: '[I] felt like a big loser, because it just wasn't happening, but you gotta be patient. Two months, and it worked.' The couple went on to date and got married in 1988. They share three children, Erik, Lily, and Chloe. The model has previously acknowledged her 'stalking' to begin dating her husband during an Instagram post she made to celebrate him back in December. 'After two months of stalking (thanks for helping Mom!) I got my first date with Greg!' she wrote, sharing an old picture of the two of them. '38 years later this man continues to fill my heart. After a hard day, I opened the door to find his sweet note! He actually wrote his note at each door of our home! Don't stress buying gifts, the best ones are not purchased with money, they are given from the heart.' They also celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary back in August. 'Happy 36th Wedding Anniversary to my most amazing husband, Greg!' she captioned an Instagram post of them together. 'Thank you for blessing me more than I could have dreamed. You are my priceless treasure, Prince Charming and the best catch ever! I love you more each day. I thank God for you.' Ireland was also known for her friendship with the late Elizabeth Taylor. During an interview with People, she revealed what some of her favorite memories of her included. 'Many people don't know something about Elizabeth,' she said. 'As she got older and I got to spend time with her, yes, we talked about jewelry, we talked about business. But we did Bible studies together.' As the two of them got older, they continued to take the time to pray together. 'She loved that. And I loved it,' the former model and businesswoman said. 'It was such a gift. And those are some of my most favorite memories of Elizabeth.' Ireland continued: 'We would go through the Old Testament, New Testament and bring them together, and it was really special.'

Kathy Ireland ‘stalked' doctor husband before starting romance
Kathy Ireland took a major gamble in finding her husband. While on the MovieGuide Awards red carpet, Ireland explained that she "stalked" her husband, Dr. Greg Olsen, before officially meeting. "I was having lunch with my mom who was a nurse, saw this cute guy walk by, and it turns out he was a doctor in his residency," she explained to Fox News Digital. "So, I go back to the hospital, mom would find out his beeper code, and we'd wait around [and] just go to the different floors where we thought we might find him." She added, "[I] felt like a big loser, because it just wasn't happening, but you gotta be patient. Two months, and it worked." The couple have been married since 1988 and share three children, Erik, Lily and Chloe. In December, Ireland shared a throwback photo of her and Greg, praising him as she acknowledged her "stalking." "After two months of stalking (thanks for helping Mom!) I got my first date with Greg! 38 years later this man continues to fill my heart," Ireland began. She also shared a photo of a note left by her husband, their initials surrounded by a heart outline. Don't stress buying gifts, the best ones are not purchased with money, they are given from the heart." She also marked their official 36th anniversary on August 20th last year, writing, "Thank you for blessing me more than I could have dreamed. You are my priceless treasure, Prince Charming and the best catch ever! I love you more each day. I thank God for you." "[I] felt like a big loser, because it just wasn't happening, but you gotta be patient. Two months, and it worked." "I married a great guy. I stalked him for two months before I met him, my mom helped me. That was wonderful," Ireland told Fox News Digital on the red carpet, sharing that the secret to their nearly 40-year relationship is "it's not a contract, it's a covenant with God at the center." "So, there are days where I'm not lovable, there's days where he's not lovable, but we made a promise not only to each other but to the Lord, so that is the key to our marriage." Ireland discovered her faith at 18, while abroad in Paris in her modeling days. Alone in a hotel room, she opened a Bible in the middle of the night and found her life "forever changed." "I didn't know how to read it. And I was a rebellious teenager questioning who really knows the truth, who really knows what's right or wrong. And as I read, I just knew that what I was holding in my hands was the truth and my life forever changed," she told Fox News Digital in 2023. She continued, recalling "Jesus was nothing like I thought. I was listening to other people's soundbites about who He was and what the Bible said." At this year's MovieGuide Awards, airing March 6 on Great American Family, Ireland was presenting the Faith and Freedom Award for movies, two things she considers "monumentally important in my life." "We all need to have the freedom to be who we are to express that and my faith in Jesus, if not for that relationship, I certainly wouldn't be here tonight. I don't know where I'd be. I'd be a mess. A big, big mess," the model and business mogul said. The 61-year-old also praised the recent news that Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson would be serving as "special envoys" to Hollywood, per an announcement from President Donald Trump back in January. "I believe all these wonderful people trust in the Lord, so my hope is they point people closer to Jesus, encourage people not to compromise and never be ashamed of their faith," she said.

Pat Boone claims Hollywood wastes ‘millions making sordid, corrupt films that fail'
Entertainment icon Pat Boone has a solution for Hollywood – embrace faith and positivity. "People waste millions making sordid, corrupt films that fail. Once in a while they get big, to the sorrow of all of us. But if you want to make a successful, profitable film, make it family friendly, make it faith friendly, make it a good story, and do it well, and you've got a great shot," Boone told Fox News Digital on the red carpet for the MovieGuide Awards. The icon was also happy to celebrate the films being honored at the ceremony because it showcases, "family films, faith-based films and prove[s] that they can make money, can be prosperous." Boone has been in the entertainment business since the 1950s, selling millions of records and rivaling Elvis Presley in popularity at one point, as well as working as a prolific songwriter. He continues to work and share music on streaming services and even released a song last year, titled "Where Did America Go?" As described on his website, Boone is "desperately worried for our country," and wrote the song as a "calling for America to come back together. This relevant and poignant wake-up call warns that one generation can erase a great nation." "People waste millions making sordid, corrupt films that fail." On top of his music career, Boone has also appeared in dozens of films, including last year's Ronald Reagan biopic starring Dennis Quaid. "We used to be the best commercial for America in the world, we made good films and we always made America look great. We became the envy of the rest of the world," the 90-year-old told Fox News Digital of the current state of Hollywood. "But then, with films or television like 'Dallas' and other films that made heroes out of people who were doing dastardly things, then we started creating more and more films [going] around the world showing America and the underbelly and the worst that we can be, and now we can deserve in some nations [to be] called 'The Great Satan.'" Instead, Boone insists, "We gotta stop that. We gotta start and continue to produce really good positive things that make people glad to be alive and not afraid to be or sorry to be alive." The multi-talented star has been a devout Christian his entire life, and feels success is better achieved through embracing one's faith. "I make movies and I sing and I do all the things I've done as a career because I like doing it. But, of course, you like it a lot better if it's successful. But faith-based films, and even for that matter, music, television all does better with families in mind, if children are in mind, and if something in your heart communicates that you want the best and not the worst," he said. "You won't always make money doing whatever it takes, no, if you want to prosper, you want to prosper doing good," he added, saying he believes, "it pays to find the goodness in our God-ness. It would be better if we're godly." Boone has always stood by his principles and faith, which sometimes caused friction in his career. In 2022, he told Fox News Digital that he risked suspension of his contract with 20th Century Fox for refusing to do a movie with Marilyn Monroe. The movie would have starred Boone as a younger man who becomes involved with a cabaret performer played by Monroe, but he felt the story was "immoral." He recalled meetings with Buddy Adler, the head of the studio, who threatened him with suspension from his seven-year contract, which could have also impacted his music and television work. "We had a couple of tense meetings in his office. I finally said, 'Mr. Adler, you do what you have to do. But I've got to follow my own conscience. I've got millions of teenage fans. I'd love to make a movie with Marilyn Monroe, but I can't make this immoral story. Teenage fans will undoubtedly get the wrong message and think it's OK to have an illicit affair.… I just can't do it." The film moved forward with production after the 1962 death of Monroe, eventually becoming "The Stripper," starring Joanne Woodward and Richard Beymer. According to Boone, the film was "a terrible flop," and the studio lost money. As the industry and country at large have evolved over the years, Boone has seen a shift in people more openly embracing their faith as he does. "Even now, politically, even now our president currently believes that God spared him when the bullet nearly took his ear off. Reagan, when he got shot in the chest, [said] I believe God spared me and I'm going to spend the rest of my life and presidency doing whatever he wants me to do. Now we have another president that is saying the same thing," Boone told Fox News Digital at the MovieGuide Awards. "And he's a novice at it, I must say, because this is new in his life, but he's got good around him who are helping him see the God-ness in our goodness." The MovieGuide Awards airs March 6 on Great American Family.

'American Pie' singer Don McLean critical of 'very bad lyric writing' in modern music
"American Pie" singer Don McLean isn't too impressed with modern songwriters. On the red carpet at the MovieGuide Awards, the musician told Fox News Digital the biggest change he's seen over his career is "very bad lyric writing and no melodies. Two important things in a song, lyrics and melody." McLean has remained a prolific performer and artist, re-releasing three of his albums, "Believers," "Chain Lightning" and "Prime Time," on vinyl and CD, as well as releasing two children's books and continuing to tour. "I got tons of stuff going on. I took some time off, and I'll start rolling sometime around this summer and then go, really go all through next year," he said. The 79-year-old also recently marked the 66th anniversary of "The Day the Music Died," when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson died in a plane crash. The tragedy served as the inspiration for McLean's iconic hit, "American Pie," a song that has become an integral part of the pop culture landscape. But McLean says he never "planned" for the song to take off. "People chose the song 'American Pie.' It wasn't something that was planned. The minute it came out, they started to play Buddy Holly, and there wasn't any reference to him in the song," he said. He continued, "And a few years after that, all these radio stations started going to oldies, playing songs from the '50s and '60s because they realized how much people missed this music. They miss it more now, I'm sure." The creation and impact of "American Pie" has been chronicled in the 2022 documentary, "The Day the Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie," on Paramount+ and Amazon. WATCH: DON MCLEAN ON 'THE PEOPLE' CHOOSING TO MAKE 'AMERICAN PIE' ICONIC McLean has honored the passing of those music legends through song and acknowledgment of what has become an "unofficial holiday." "Then the whole 'The Day the Music Died' started about 10 years ago, I guess. It's sort of an unofficial holiday commemorating this solemn occasion, and the song, of course, deified that moment in a certain way," he explained. "I was trying to write a big song about America, and so that's how that all happened, but again, it all happened from the people," he added. McLean can be seen presenting the best documentary category at the MovieGuide Awards airing March 6 on Great American Family.
