Mr's Paul's Po Boys and Jams closes, with new concept planned in Edina
Mr. Paul's Supper Club in Edina is planning a new concept to replace Mr. Paul's Po Boys and Jams.
The sandwich shop, located in the back bar of Mr. Paul's Supper Club in the Nolan Mains development at 50th and France, closed on Feb. 9, as did its stall at the The Market at Malcolm Yards food hall in Northeast Minneapolis.
The Edina location also hosted the Back Door Burger Bar on select Fridays and Saturdays, which Mr. Paul's said would continue once the new concept is open.
The popular New Orleans-style supper club led by by Chef Tommy Begnaud is staying open as its team prepares its replacement for the sandwich shop. Begnaud and his team also recently opened Mothership Pizza Paradise in the 50th and France neighborhood.
"After three wonderful years serving po'boys at our Edina location and one memorable year at Malcolm Yards, we have made the bittersweet decision to retire the Mr. Paul's Po Boys and Jams concept," it said.
"As we bid farewell to this beloved menu, we are excited for the future. We know The Market at Malcolm Yards will find another fantastic concept to fill this space, and we will be closing our Edina location to make way for something new. But never fear – our beloved Burger Bar will return in some form in the newly designed space!"
It was announced this week that the Mr. Paul's Po Boys and Jams space at Malcolm Yards will be filled by World Street Kitchen.
