Nagpur: The employees of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Nagpur once again reposed their faith in the 'Apna Panel' in the elections to the Employees' Credit Cooperative Society, the results of which were declared on Thursday.
Eight members from the panel emerged victorious in the elections held on June 11, signalling a strong comeback after the last polls held one and a half years ago.
The credit cooperative society conducted elections for 11 board of director seats. A total of 1,551 members cast their votes.
Among the winning candidates from the Apna Panel are Shailesh Ramteke, Mrigendra Tele, Shahjad Baba Khan, Amol Fate, Atul Sikkalwar, Ishwar Rathod, Sandeep Murkut and Archana Masram.
The newly-elected board will soon convene to appoint office-bearers.
This election witnessed participation from four major panels – Apna, Swabhimani, Karmachari Ekta, and Sankalp. In the previous election, held nearly 18 months ago, the Apna Panel secured four seats, while the Parivartan Panel won six, and one candidate won as an independent. That outcome marked a shift in the society's leadership after 18 years. However, due to internal conflicts within the Parivartan Panel, the society was placed under an administrator's charge, prompting fresh elections.
Shailesh Ramteke said, "The mandate reflects the confidence of employees in our panel. We are committed to transparent and employee-friendly functioning."
