The Four Seasons EPs Break Down That Tragic Twist, Tease Ideas for a Possible Season 2
Warning: This post contains spoilers for all eight episodes of Netflix's . Netflix's The Four Seasons follows six friends through a year of their lives — and that year, sadly, ended in tragedy. More from TVLine SNL Video: An Elderly Quinta Brunson and Kenan Thompson Make Extra Cash on OnlyFans for Seniors SNL Video: Sabrina Carpenter Joins Quinta Brunson to Sing About Being Short - Watch What to Watch This Week: 50+ Premieres, Finales and More In the penultimate episode, we learned that Nick (played by Steve Carell) died in a car crash while driving alone on New Year's Eve. His death sent shockwaves through the group, including his ex-wife Anne and his new girlfriend Ginny. The show managed to find some laughs amid the tragedy — Kate's haggling with the funeral director led to Nick's ashes ending up in an urn shaped like a red high heel shoe — but it was still a surprisingly dark turn for what had been a lighthearted comedy up until that point. 'It was a decision we thought about a lot,' co-creator Tracey Wigfield tells TVLine about the choice to kill off Nick. 'But it did seem like the right kind of thing, because when we pitched the show initially, we were very clear about: It's a human scale show. There's no murderer on the loose. It's the stakes of real life. But when you're middle-aged, the stakes of life do include death.' She notes that 'a lot of times, it's a parent who is dying… and sometimes, a friend your age dies as well. So if our show is all about these long relationships and these friendships that see you through all of it, the good and the bad, it did feel correct to have that be included in our story.' And the story might not end there: The finale seemed to point towards a possible Season 2, especially with Ginny announcing that she's pregnant. 'We would love to write a Season 2, if they want one,' co-creator Lang Fisher says. She and the writers 'have no ideas for what it would be yet,' she claims, but Wigfield disagrees: 'Well, we have some ideas!' If Netflix does renew it for Season 2, 'we do know that we would bring the core cast back,' Fisher reveals. 'It wouldn't be, like, an anthology. We would keep our group because I think that's what makes the show so great, this particular group. You'd know there would be four trips' and 'still the same four seasons.' But beyond that, the possibilities are endless, she jokes: 'It could be in space!' Give a grade in our poll, and let us know what you thought about Season 1 in the comments. SNL Video: An Elderly Quinta Brunson and Kenan Thompson Make Extra Cash on OnlyFans for Seniors
Everybody could use a little extra money these days, and Saturday Night Live may have found a solution for seniors — if they're willing to get freaky. On this week's SNL, host Quinta Brunson and Kenan Thompson played an elderly married couple spending time with their kids and telling them they finally found a life insurance policy that would accept them. It's cheap and it takes all preexisting conditions… as long as they set up a camera and 'do stuff to each other.' Yes, it's OnlySeniors, basically OnlyFans for old people, and Brunson and Thompson's old folks happily admitted they do whatever wild acts their 'chat babies' ask them to and then just 'watch the money start pouring in.' When their daughter played by Ego Nwodim raised an objection, Brunson's character angrily reprimanded her… until Thompson's character calmed her down by activating a remote vibrator. It's not all about sex, though: Thompson's character insisted sometimes they just have to do a little dance — while naked, of course. They also sometimes just invite over their neighbors the Johnsons — and yeah, they're naked, too. Or, as Thompson's character put it, 'buck ball naked.' Suits LA Reveals Harvey and Donna Have a [Spoiler] — Plus, a Sad Update About Marcus Specter
Unfortunately, this Sunday's Suits LA did not include an appearance from Donna, even after Ted gave the redhead a shout-out while he and Harvey teamed to put mobster Pellegrini back behind bars — but 'Darvey' 'shippers did get a major update about the couple. While Harvey and Ted were in New York, the former got a text that no doubt made fans of the original Suits squeal: A contact saved in Harvey's phone as 'My Boy' messaged him, 'Daddy, when are you going to call?' More from TVLine Suits LA: Harvey's Latest Appearance Ties Pellegrini to Another Suits Vet Suits LA Pays Tribute to John Amos as Ted and Rick Try to Get Walk of Fame Star for Late Actor — Watch Video The Last of Us Kills [Spoiler] in Devastating Episode 2 - Read Recap Ted later confirmed that Harvey has a son, confronting his friend about the texts he kept receiving and asking what his son's name is. Harvey replied that the child's name is Ted, and he almost had his pal. 'It's Kevin. I always liked him better,' Harvey continued to joke. As Suits fans will recall, Harvey and Donna got hitched in the show's series finale, then announced that they were leaving New York to work with Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) in Seattle. While the LA offshoot didn't address whether Harvey and Donna are still in the Pacific Northwest, fighting the good fight with their colleagues, the spinoff did reassure us, between Harvey's wedding band and the reveal that the pair has a son, that 'Darvey' is going strong. And after waiting nine seasons for them to get together, thank God for that happy news! On a very different and sad note, Harvey confessed to Ted that he lost his brother, Marcus, to cancer a few years ago and asked if it gets any easier. A dedication at the end of the episode stated 'In honor of Billy Miller,' who recurred as Marcus Specter on the USA Network drama. The actor died in Sept. 2023 amid a battle with bipolar disorder at the age of 43. Finally, in the episode's third Suits nod, David Costabile reprised his role as co-founding law firm partner Daniel Hardman, whom Ted put on the stand during the racketeering trial against Pellegrini in 2010. Meanwhile, in the present day, Ted, Harvey and Kevin attempted to play Pellegrini and his men against each other by offering up immunity to whoever came to them first. When Harvey later admitted that his guy, Cahill, didn't have the jurisdiction to give immunity, he had to be referring to Neal McDonough's character, right? fans, what did you think of the reveal that Harvey and Donna have a son? Tracker Solves Gina Picket Case in Midseason Premiere — Grade It
Colter Shaw's white whale case has finally been solved — but TV's Tracker didn't necessarily get the outcome he wanted. Sunday's midseason premiere revealed that serial killer 'The Teacher' was a man by the name of Noah Darview (played by The X-Files' Nicholas Lea) — an anesthesiologist who worked as a traveling doctor for a locum tenens company and found his victims in several states, which made it virtually impossible for authorities to connect the dots. More from TVLine Melissa Roxburgh Shares Update on Tracker Encore, Potential Supernatural Reunion With Jensen Ackles (Video) Ratings Check-In: Tracker, Matlock, 60 Minutes and FBI Lead This TV Season's Non-Sports Fare SNL50: Watch All the Highlights From the Star-Studded Anniversary Special (Updating Live) When he was younger, Darview retrieved his own victims. Once he got older, he recruited 'disciples' — young men like Frank Whales (Ryan Dorsey), all of whom were already registered sex offenders — to do his bidding for him. He was never at any of the crime scenes that his young, female victims disappeared from, so he was never even a suspect. It wasn't until Colter, with an unlikely assist from Whales (R.I.P.), captured Darview and turned him over to the police that he confessed to killing Gina Picket. What's more, he admitted where he buried all the bodies, which afforded Colter's ex Camille (Floriana Lima) the closure she so richly deserved. After a proper funeral, Camille told Colter that she intended to leave the country and travel the world. But she also told him that this was not goodbye — and if she ever returns, she would give him a ring. Likewise, it was time for Keaton (Brent Sexton) to hit the road. Before he and Colter parted ways, the retired cop told Shaw that he's just a phone call away should he ever need his help on another case. What did you think of s midseason premiere? Were you satisfied with the outcome of the Gina Picket case? And should the show do more multi-episode arcs like this one, or stick to its usual case-of-the-week format? Chicago Fire: Stella Proposes a Surprising Family Option — How Did Severide Respond?
On this week's Chicago Fire, a visit from Stella's cousin Cole brought some much-needed insight into the firefighter's hesitancy to start her own family with Severide. At first, Cole blamed Severide for keeping Stella away from her family, but Stella explained to Cole that it was her own embarrassment about what happened with her ex-husband and the drug spiral that made her distance herself. After Cole apologized to Severide, he opened up about what it was like to grow up with Stella after she lost both her parents at 12. She moved in with Cole and his mom, and after her aunt had her second child, she suffered from postpartum depression. Stella stepped up to take care of her aunt and cousins, Cole shared as Severide started to see a new side of his tough wife. The Voice Premiere Recap: As Adam Levine Reclaimed His Seat, Which Singers Deserved a Standing Ovation? Back at home, Stella told Severide that catching up with Cole made her realize how fast time flies by and how she let her family slip out of her fingers. She doesn't want to waste time anymore, she continued. And no doubt what happened with her aunt shaped her thinking about having a baby, but… 'I am not sure that I want to get pregnant. But I am sure that I want a family with you, Kelly,' Stella said, before offering up another option for starting a family: 'Is adoption something that you would consider? Opening our home to a child who needs it, just like Aunt Laverne did with me?' 'I think that sounds…just right,' Severide responded after a beat, then smiled and kissed Stella. Adoption certainly lets Stella keep working as a firefighter, while also assuaging her fears about what happened to her aunt. But is it too similar to what Gabby and Sylvie (and maybe even Cruz) went through in their own family storylines? Hit the comments with your thoughts, fans!
