The couple got engaged in Co Kerry in 2021. 'It's a strange thing because, yes, I'm a public figure but I'm just a person who happens to be on the telly,' Muireann once told the Sunday World, when she admitted she didn't want to talk too openly about her fiancé, describing him as her 'housemate'. 'If I was in a different job I think I'd be the exact same way. 'I don't think ever in my entire life, other than with friends, have I talked about who I'm going out with.' Muireann shared pictures on social media from her new home this week. 'The bathroom does need a little bit of work but I think once we get the bathroom done we can then just move in and any other work that needs to be done we'll do while we're here,' she explained, while showing a picture of the bathroom. 'Thank you to the lovely previous owners and to everyone who helped us to get here. Ye are the best. 'We've been terrible at this process. God, house buying has been a slog. I know it's not easy. For anyone going through it, much love. It can be soul destroying. But bloody hell, do I feel good today.'
