Neil Nitin Mukesh Confirms Mukesh Biopic, Reveals He May Not Play His Granddad

Last Updated: Neil Nitin Mukesh has been working on the script of Mukesh's biopic for two years now. He reiterates that his father, Nitin Mukesh, feels he's the best fit to play Mukesh. Neil Nitin Mukesh was all of five when his grandfather, legendary vocalist Mukesh, passed away. Not having many vivid memories of and with him, Neil relied on stories from his grandmother and father, musician Nitin Mukesh. And for the last two years, he has been working on a script that chronicles the life and times of Mukesh. Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Neil reveals, 'My team and I've been writing for quite some time. Not many know that I'm a professional writer and have a production house too." Spilling the beans on his process of research, he tells us, 'There's a full exercise in place – every time I sit down with my father, I listen to anecdotes about my grandfather from him, go through the archives of whatever we've of him like his memorabilia and photographs." According to Neil, Mukesh's life makes for a great cinematic tale. 'We've got a great bank of content and material ready. His life has been so beautiful. There's a lovely arc in his story. His journey is so inspiring that people need to see it," he points out. One of the directors in the running to helm the biopic is Tere Bin Laden and Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran fame Abhishek Sharma, who recently directed Neil in the web series, Hai Junoon. 'We're just trying to figure out the right medium, the producers to collaborate with, the actors and the filmmakers to come onboard. I've had a word with Abhishek. In fact, he was the one who brought up the conversation. He's truly excited about the idea. I'm waiting for him to get free. I would love to listen to how he's envisioning it," he states. So, who will be playing Mukesh onscreen? 'I don't think there can be a better Mukesh than me. Neil Nitin Mukesh is Mukesh. I know him better than anyone else. Dad also wants me to play my grandfather for emotional reasons," says Neil. But he's quick to add that he's 'realistic' enough and wouldn't have any qualms about any other actor playing his grandfather. 'The business of cinema is very different. As actors, we look for opportunities but we're given them basis what others perceive of us. Your draw to the box office is important," he remarks. Neil further adds, 'These days, your draw to your followers on Instagram is also a benchmark of popularity. As far as talent goes, I'm not going to flinch for even a moment when I say that I'm going to be the best fit to play Mukesh. But I do respect the business and know where I stand. So, if at all, any producer who'll eventually put their money on this, feel that another actor can depict his life better than me, I'm okay with it. If they want to get another actor from the point of view of finances, I'm okay with it too." First Published:

Axar Patel's DC might release these star players after IPL 2025

In this collection of pictures we shall know the star players who might be released by Axar Patel's Delhi Capitals after IPL 2025. Jake Fraser-McGurk was released by Delhi Capitals prior to the IPL 2025 auction. But the franchise recalled him for Rs 9 crore through the Right-To-Match option during the mega auction. DC had great hopes from Fraser-McGurk but he could deliver nothing, managing just 55 runs in six games at a strike rate of 105.77 before being finally dropped from the playing XI. Following his poor performance, Delhi Capitals may release Fraser-McGurk post-IPL 2025 season. Australian youth Jake Fraser-McGurk, noted for his hard-hitting batting, has scored 385 runs in 15 games with an average of 25.67 and a strike rate of 199.48 in his IPL career till date. Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar was retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) under the Right to Match (RTM) option for Rs. 8 crore during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. But Mukesh failed to deliver according to the franchise's expectations. Mukesh has been one of the costliest bowlers in IPL 2025 season as he picked 12 wickets from 12 games but gave runs at an economy of 10.32. He was extremely poor in death overs. Delhi Capitals may think of releasing Mukesh after the season of IPL 2025 and searching for someone with faster bowling options. Mukesh Kumar, who began his IPL journey with the Delhi Capitals in 2023, has taken 36 wickets across 32 appearances to date. Sri Lankan bowler Dushmantha Chameera was retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 75.0 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Chameera has featured in four matches in IPL 2025, picking up three wickets with a steep economy of 10.77. Chameera has been inconsistent in his performances, particularly in powerplay and death overs. Since his plain mode and lack of faith from the management, Delhi Capitals can release Chameera after IPL 2025 season to find more potent overseas bowling talent. Dushmantha Chameera has claimed 13 wickets in 19 IPL appearances, maintaining an economy rate of 9.72 throughout his career in the tournament so far. Veteran South African cricketer Faf du Plessis was acquired by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, his contributions during the season fell short of expectations. At 40 years old, Du Plessis faced fitness challenges and featured in 9 games, managing to score 202 runs at an average of 22.44 and a strike rate of 123.92. Considering his age and physical condition, Delhi may contemplate releasing him to open up an overseas spot for a more dynamic and explosive option. Faf du Plessis has accumulated 4,773 runs across 154 IPL games, maintaining an average of 35.09 and a strike rate of 135.78 over the course of his career in the tournament.

Even CM post is not far if Nishads vote unitedly: Sahani

Patna: Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahani on Thursday claimed that not only the deputy CM post but even the CM's chair is not impossible for him if the 10% Nishads in Bihar vote unitedly. He was addressing the party workers in Bhojpur. Mukesh said the VIP won four seats in the last assembly elections and they made him a minister. "BJP hatched a conspiracy as they thought Mukesh Sahani can win 40 seats tomorrow and 125 next and he will become CM. So, they bought my party's four MLAs," he alleged. "We have the target to win 40 seats in the coming election," Mukesh said and asked the party workers to start preparations in Barhara and Ara Sadar assembly constituencies in Bhojpur to contest in the coming elections. Earlier, at a press conference on Wednesday, Sahani said the Grand Alliance will contest the coming assembly election under the leadership of RJD's Tejashwi Prsad Yadav and himself. He went to the extent of saying that the RJD-VIP needed Congress backing in Bihar as the grand old party will need their support in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. His comments drew sharp reactions from not only the NDA netas but of Congress as well. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like local network access control Esseps Learn More Undo Congress state media cell chairman Rajesh Rathorre evaded a direct reply but said only the decisions taken by the INDI Alliance coordination committee in Bihar are acceptable. While JD(U) spokesman Abhishek Jha said Congress and the Left parties should decide now as Sahani was claiming No. 2 spot in the alliance, BJP state spokesperson Prabhakar Kumar Mishra said, "This is like he is distributing invitation cards for 'Chhathiyaari' (a child's birth celebration) when there is no date fixed even for marriage yet. The person who had a fish party with Tejashwi in a helicopter during Navaratra is calling himself a contender for the post of deputy CM. " He said there was a long queue of people in the Grand Alliance for the CM candidate. "Now another queue is also being formed for the candidature for the post of deputy CM," he said.
