Delhi to Patna in Just 3 hours, Indian Railways set to bring THIS new train, not Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Vande Bharat, top speed to be...
Image for representational purposes Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express: The Indian Railway has seen a massive transformation under the Narendra Modi government. In the last 10 years, the government implemented a slew of changes that have made the travelling experience of the passengers convenient and comfortable. Several luxurious trains have been introduced, significantly cutting down travel time between states. These trains have been well-received by the public. Now, according to the reports, the Indian Railways is working tirelessly on the bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Preparation to Launch MHHSR Indian Railways is likely to inaugurate the Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail (MHHSR) project soon. Once completed, the travel time between Mumbai and Hyderabad—currently 14 to 16 hours—will be reduced to just three hours. According to the reports, the 767-kilometer-long bullet train corridor will connect Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. It will include 11 stations, with the Navi Mumbai International Airport likely to be one of them. Here are some of the key features of the train: The train will have a speed of 320 km/h, with a maximum capability of reaching up to 350 km/h. It will be equipped with an earthquake detection system (UrEDAS), digital signaling, and a mixed track system (including elevated, underground, and level tracks). As for ticket pricing, it will be about one and a half times more than a first-class AC train—premium, yet affordable. This is one of six high-speed railway corridors being developed in the country. It is important to note that the construction work on this project has not yet begun. However, surveys, studies, and route planning are currently underway. Work is already in progress on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad line. Once operational, this train will boost tourism, reduce road congestion, and enhance the overall level of rail travel. 17-hour journey will now be completed in just 3 hours To recall, it was earlier reported that the Indian Railways is preparing to launch a bullet train service on the Delhi-Howrah route. With the high-speed train, travel time will be reduced from 17 hours to just three hours. The Delhi-Howrah bullet train will pass through stations like Buxar, Patna, and Gaya. Dedicated bullet train stations will be constructed in these districts, making the journey more convenient for passengers. The train will start from Delhi, pass through Buxar, Patna, and Gaya, then head to Varanasi, and finally reach Howrah. This means the journey to Patna will take only about two and a half to three hours.

In a significant move to enhance travel and strengthen regional connections in southern and western India, the Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail (MHHSR) project is making steady progress. According to The Metro Rail Guy report, the proposed MHHSR corridor will span 767 km, connecting three major urban hubs—Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad—through 11 strategically located stations. The 11 proposed stations include: Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Lonavala, Pune, Kurkumb/Daund, Akluj, Pandharpur, Solapur, Kalaburagi (Gulbarga), Zaheerabad, and Hyderabad. Mumbai to Hyderabad in just 3 hours, top speed to be…., important stations include…, fare to… The Mumbai-Hyderabad line is part of the Indian government's plan to introduce six new high-speed rail routes, announced in 2019. While construction hasn't started yet, the initial work began with tender processes in October 2020. As per The Metro Rail Guy, once finished, this project will make long-distance travel in the region faster, safer, and more comfortable. Speaking of the price, the official fare chart hasn't been released yet, but early estimates suggest that tickets will be about 1.5 times the cost of a first-class AC train ticket, providing a premium yet reasonably priced experience. The MHHSR will operate at speeds of up to 320 km/h, with a top speed of 350 km/h. Featuring just 11 stops and a streamlined route that includes elevated, underground, and at-grade tracks, the train will maintain high speeds over long distances. This will cut travel time to around 3 hours, a significant reduction from the 14–16 hours taken by regular trains. The rail line will operate on a standard gauge track and is expected to reach speeds of up to 320 km/h, significantly reducing travel time. The route will include a mix of elevated, underground, and at-grade tracks. It is likely to begin near Thane, running parallel to major highways and integrating with the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train corridor.
