Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express: The Indian Railway has seen a massive transformation under the Narendra Modi government. In the last 10 years, the government implemented a slew of changes that have made the travelling experience of the passengers convenient and comfortable. Several luxurious trains have been introduced, significantly cutting down travel time between states. These trains have been well-received by the public. Now, according to the reports, the Indian Railways is working tirelessly on the bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Preparation to Launch MHHSR
Indian Railways is likely to inaugurate the Mumbai-Hyderabad High-Speed Rail (MHHSR) project soon. Once completed, the travel time between Mumbai and Hyderabad—currently 14 to 16 hours—will be reduced to just three hours. According to the reports, the 767-kilometer-long bullet train corridor will connect Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. It will include 11 stations, with the Navi Mumbai International Airport likely to be one of them. Here are some of the key features of the train: The train will have a speed of 320 km/h, with a maximum capability of reaching up to 350 km/h.
It will be equipped with an earthquake detection system (UrEDAS), digital signaling, and a mixed track system (including elevated, underground, and level tracks).
As for ticket pricing, it will be about one and a half times more than a first-class AC train—premium, yet affordable.
This is one of six high-speed railway corridors being developed in the country.
It is important to note that the construction work on this project has not yet begun. However, surveys, studies, and route planning are currently underway. Work is already in progress on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad line. Once operational, this train will boost tourism, reduce road congestion, and enhance the overall level of rail travel. 17-hour journey will now be completed in just 3 hours
To recall, it was earlier reported that the Indian Railways is preparing to launch a bullet train service on the Delhi-Howrah route. With the high-speed train, travel time will be reduced from 17 hours to just three hours. The Delhi-Howrah bullet train will pass through stations like Buxar, Patna, and Gaya.
Dedicated bullet train stations will be constructed in these districts, making the journey more convenient for passengers. The train will start from Delhi, pass through Buxar, Patna, and Gaya, then head to Varanasi, and finally reach Howrah. This means the journey to Patna will take only about two and a half to three hours.

SEBI probe into Adani stalled as ‘tax-haven' countries not sharing information, alleges Congress
The Congress on Monday alleged that the Securities and Exchange Board of India investigation into transactions involving the Adani Group has been hindered due to a lack of sharing of financial information by tax-haven countries and insufficient 'pressure' from the Indian government to secure the data. The Opposition party also claimed that a key figure in the alleged Adani 'scam' holds Cypriot citizenship. The statement came amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Cyprus. The Adani Group and its 13 offshore investors have been facing an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Board of India since United States-based firm Hindenburg Research alleged in January 2023 that the conglomerate was pulling off the ' largest con in corporate history '. In a report, it claimed that the Adani Group was involved in stock manipulation, accounting fraud and money laundering. The Adani Group has rejected the allegations and denied any wrongdoing. But the report had triggered a rout in stocks of the conglomerate's seven listed companies, which collectively lost more than $100 billion in market valuation. '[Prime Minister] would have us believe that it is a pure coincidence that a key figure in the Modani scam has a Cypriot citizenship,' Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed in a social media post. He also claimed that the Cyprus-based fund New Leaina has 'reportedly about $420 million in Adani companies'. Ramesh alleged that 'the 'ultimate beneficial owners' of this fund are linked to Amicorp', a firm he claimed is believed to have set up at least seven Adani promoter entities, seven offshore shell companies connected to businessman Gautam Adani's brother Vinod Adani and three Mauritius-based offshore investors in Adani Group stock.
