Dolly Parton praises Beyoncé's cover of Jolene: ‘I'm a huge fan'
The Formation hitmaker recorded a version of the track, with significant changes to the lyrics, for her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter. During a recent interview for People, Dolly recalled how she was excited to hear how Beyoncé altered the tone of the song. "I was just honoured that she, of course, did a completely different take on Jolene than my version of it," she told the outlet. Elsewhere in the conversation, the country music icon called Cowboy Carter a "really good album" and wished Beyoncé all the best for her current stadium tour.
