Is your child missing out on $1,132 free dental care?
Dentists across Australia are urging parents to check their eligibility for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) a government initiative that offers up to $1,132 worth of dental care for eligible children over two years.
With around 1.5 million children missing out on this free dental care annually, the Australian Dental Association is calling for greater awareness of the program and renewed attention to good oral hygiene habits from an early age.
Melbourne mother of two, Mutya Guilas, highlights how routine checkups, early access to dental services, and understanding what CDBS covers have supported her children's oral health and helped minimise out-of-pocket costs.

It's important for me to take my kids to the dentist while they're young so they grow up with healthy teeth, learn how to care for them, and see regular checkups as normal. Dental health isn't just about clean teeth; it helps prevent cavities, gum disease, and even infections later on. Good oral hygiene really supports overall well-being.
