SM drops special album celebrating 30th anniversary

Special album comprises 17 songs, including collaboration track and reinterpreted SM classics To commemorate its 30th anniversary, SM Entertainment is set to release the special album '2025 SM Town: The Culture, The Future' on Friday at 6 p.m. Friday marks 30 years since SM Entertainment was founded on Feb. 14, 1995. This year, SM introduced its new slogan 'The Culture, The Future,' reflecting its vision to continue influencing people and memories through music and culture in future decades. Under this theme, the 'SM Town Live 2025' concert was held at Gocheok Sky Dome in January, and various celebratory events, including the special album release and an SM Classics Orchestra Concert, are being held sequentially. The new album's main track is 'Thank You,' a group song created in collaboration with Kenzie, one of SM's most iconic composers. The song features 14 SM artists, including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, aespa, Riize and NCT Wish. The track's music video, to be unveiled at 6 p.m. Friday, combines touching animations with a chronological montage of past SM artists' music videos, evoking nostalgia. The album comprises 17 tracks, including reinterpretations of SM's iconic songs. Girls' Generation's 'My Everything' is a remake of The Grace's 2006 song. Naevis' 'Game' is a reimagined version of BoA's 2010 track, produced by its original composer and producer, Hitchhiker. SHINee's 2015 hit 'View' has been remixed by ScreaM Records, SM's EDM label, and BoA's 2004 hit 'My Name' has been rearranged by SM Classics, SM's classical and jazz label. 'This album offers a unique way to enjoy the broad musical spectrum that SM has built over 30 years, and we anticipate a great response from global listeners," the entertainment powerhouse stated. In addition to the special album, SM is releasing 'The Culture, The Future,' a brand documentary magazine in collaboration with Magazine B, exploring its 30-year history and future vision. Also, the first SM Classics Orchestra Concert, 'SM Classics Live 2025,' is scheduled to be held at Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall on Friday night and at Lotte Concert Hall on Saturday.
