PS Plus Essential August 2025 games announced as Lies of P joins the service
The PS Plus Essential August 2025 games have been announced, with Lies of P, Day Z and My Hero Academia: One's Justice 2 all set to be available to download in just a few days' time
The latest PS Plus Essential roster has been unveiled in an unexpected early release, featuring fan favourites such as Lies of P and Day Z.
PlayStation has certainly thrown us a surprise, but it's hard to complain. The announcement of the PS Plus Essential games for August 2025 has come ahead of time, making it an exhilarating period to be part of the service.
It's been on a roll since the PS Plus Extra and Premium July 2025 games unexpectedly included Cyberpunk 2077, along with the day one release of Abiotic Factor, which debuted simultaneously in the second July Xbox Game Pass drop.
This continued a strong run, with the PS Plus Essential games for July also offering Diablo 4 in celebration of the service's anniversary. Now, however, there's a fresh batch of games for players to download and keep, remaining playable as long as they're subscribed to the service.
Even though they didn't align with our PS Plus Essential August predictions, they're still contributing to a rather impressive lineup. Here's what you need to know about the PS Plus Essential August 2025 games, and when you can expect to play them.

PS Plus Essential August 2025 games
As revealed prematurely in a surprising blog post, the PS Plus Essential August 2025 games have been announced to be:
Lies of P
These games are set to launch on Tuesday, 5th August, meaning you have until then to download the current titles Diablo 4, The King of Fighters XV and Jusant.
Despite the roster being predominantly PS4 -centric, it's far more thrilling than it initially appears – Lies of P is a standout soulslike game set to accompany the recent Wuchang Fallen Feathers release date, and with Day Z boasting an endless lifespan and My Hero Academia maintaining enough popularity to fuel excitement for its second installment in the One's Justice series, it's a robust lineup. It may be more niche than usual, but there are some cracking games for players to dive into.
