In life, it is extremely important to be able to multitask, and humans are constantly juggling multiple things at one time. Surprisingly, we aren't the only ones who have mastered multitasking! Some animals are incredible multitaskers, too; it just looks a little different!
Meet Mzinga, a 3-year-old African elephant whose multitasking abilities are quite impressive! In a video clip shared by Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, we get a glimpse of Mzinga skillfully combining two of her favorite activities, eating and sleeping!
Elephants travel many miles every day and it's not surprising that they would become tired and hungry at the same time. Apparently, this little girl was just too exhausted to keep going, and she desperately needed a nap. However, she was also starving, so combining the two tasks seemed like the only logical solution!
First, she picks a comfy spot in the grass to lay down for her nap. Humans might think that she picked the grassy area for the cushioning. However, it became clear that it was all part of her plan, and she actually picked it so she could lie there and munch away on tasty greens, at the same time! This creative combo of nap time and mealtime gives the phrase, 'killing two birds with one stone,' a whole new meaning! She is a genius and based on the comments, her fans agree!
One viewer said, 'Nothing like lounging in a bowl of salad, LOL!'
Another follower said she completely understands the little pachyderm and stated, 'I'm on that same energy, Mzinga! I'm lying on my couch, eating potato chips, happily watching her!'
In an effort to save time, many people will drink coffee while commuting to work, and maybe even add in a conference call with clients. Well, it's clear that this sweet little elephant does not want to waste a minute of her day so doing both tasks together is all about efficiency!
We should all learn from Mzinga's example and remember to take time for the little things—but also have a tasty snack handy. She is living her best life and not worried about getting crumbs in her bed—so we shouldn't either!
