Mechanic struck by cement truck in Moncton has died; WorkSafeNB investigating

(Wade Perry) A mechanic who was struck by a cement truck in Moncton, N.B., Thursday afternoon has died from his injuries. Emergency crews were called to the scene near Edinburgh and English drives around 2:50 p.m. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and died in hospital. A relative told CTV News the cement truck rolled over the man, who worked for the company that owns the truck. They said the 39-year-old was a father of two. WorkSafeNB confirmed the victim worked for Casey Concrete Ltd. and it is investigating the incident as a workplace fatality. 'We offer our deepest condolences to the worker's family, as well as their friends and colleagues,' said Lynn Meahan-Carson, manager of corporate communications for WorkSafeNB. Moncton Fire Department Platoon Chief Brad Calhoun said it received a call reporting the collision around 2:50 p.m. at the corner of Edinburgh and English drives. (Wade Perry) 'The patient was transported with serious injuries,' said Calhoun. 'Serious, life-threatening injuries.' Calhoun said it was a 'significant sized' vehicle. No one else was hurt in the collision. RCMP members could be seen photographing the area afterwards. Elderly woman who may be disoriented missing in Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B.

RCMP in Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B., are asking for help from the public in finding a missing elderly woman last seen Sunday morning. Police say 79-year-old Ruth Carol Sutton was last seen walking on Mallard Drive around 9:10 a.m. She was reported missing to police the same day. According to police, they have followed up on multiple leads but have been unsuccessful in finding Sutton. Police say Sutton suffers from a medical condition which may cause her to become disoriented. Sutton is described by police as being approximately five-foot-two, weighing around 130 pounds, with blue eyes and white hair. She was last seen wearing a light blue jacket. Police said Sunday that Ground Search and Rescue teams, as well as Police Dog Services, were in the area conducting a search. Search underway for missing senior, 79, who may be disoriented

A search is underway in Grand Bay-Westfield, N.B., for a 79-year-old woman who went missing Sunday morning. Police say Ruth Carol Sutton, who goes by the name Carol, was last seen walking on Mallard Drive at about 9:10 a.m. In a news release, RCMP said she suffers from a medical condition that may cause her to become disoriented. Sutton is described as being approximately five feet two inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has blue eyes and white hair and was last seen wearing a light blue jacket, according to police. Police, ground search and rescue teams, and police dog services were in the area searching for Sutton on Sunday afternoon. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP at 506-757-1020.
