TGCSB and NALSAR sign pact to strengthen cyber law enforcement in Telangana
The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. The collaboration seeks to merge legal education, policy research and forensic capabilities with the TGCSB's operational expertise, creating a multidisciplinary framework to tackle cybercrime. The MoU outlines joint efforts to review and strengthen existing cyber laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and to offer policy suggestions related to enforcement, data privacy, financial fraud and digital evidence. The agreement was signed by TGCSB director Shikha Goel and NALSAR Vice-Chancellor Srikrishna Deva Rao in the presence of Telangana Director General of Police Jitender. The two institutions will work together to offer legal and forensic support in cybercrime investigations, develop victim-centric restitution mechanisms, create digital dispute resolution frameworks and establish a dedicated Legal and Forensic Advisory Unit within TGCSB. Specialised training modules will also be designed for police and judicial officers. The DGP highlighted the importance of blending policy with grassroots enforcement and said the partnership would improve knowledge-sharing between the police and academia. described the collaboration as a service to society aimed at countering cybercrime through structured awareness, education and eventual policy reform. Shikha Goel termed the MoU a 'model for the nation', underlining the urgency of evolving legal systems and forensic tools to keep pace with emerging digital threats.

Hyderabad: NALSAR University signs MoU with T-Hub Foundation
Hyderabad, Apr 26 (UNI) On the World-IP day, the NALSAR University of Law signed an MoU with T-hub Foundation here on Saturday, to support T-Hub on several IP related activities. The MoU was signed by Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao; Vice-Chancellor-NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and Santoshi Reddy Velagala; VP - Finance, Legal, and Compliance, T-Hub Foundation, the University said in a release here. NALSAR and T-hub, through this collaboration, aims to further provide startups with comprehensive IP-related support, including advisory services, capacity-building initiatives, policy development, and training programs. The collaboration also seeks to leverage NALSAR's academic expertise and T-Hub's startup ecosystem to foster innovation, protect intellectual property, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of startups. DPIIT IPR Chair of NALSAR University of Law wishes to partner with T-Hub for various programs which shall enable T-Hub to leverage its expertise in this field to create a quality program and be part of NALSAR projects. NALSAR and LawSikho launch AI-powered diploma to future-proof legal careers
NALSAR University of Law has partnered with LawSikho to launch a diploma course that merges legal education with artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The program, titled Diploma in Future of Law: AI, Technology & Legal Practice, is set to begin in June 2025 and is certified by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Skill India. This outcome-driven diploma aims to equip law students and professionals with real-world, immediately applicable skills aligned with the AI-powered evolution of legal practice. According to a press release issued on Thursday, participants will gain hands-on experience by drafting over 25 legal documents using AI tools, building freelance profiles, and mastering compliance automation—skills designed to translate directly into paid opportunities. Commenting on the partnership, Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR, said, 'The AI revolution is leading us to rethink notions of judicial understanding of creativity, rights and responsibilities, and justice delivery. The entire legal fraternity—lawyers, judges, companies, and law firms—must creatively engage with and learn from developments in legal tech to work toward responsible AI. We are delighted to partner with NSDC and LawSikho in offering this timely and relevant course.' Highlighting LawSikho's impact, CEO Ramanuj Mukherjee shared that between April 2020 and March 2025, the platform facilitated over ₹43.41 crore (USD 5.2 million) worth of job and freelance work for students. The highest domestic earning reported was INR 38 LPA (USD 44K), while the highest international earning reached INR 80 LPA (USD 97K). 'This diploma represents a shift in legal education—we're not just teaching theory, but enabling real income and career growth,' Mukherjee said. WTO experts underscore key insights on trade policy and industrial policy linkages
New Delhi: The role of Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes in enhancing manufacturing competitiveness, India's green transition, and inclusive sustainability took center stage at an international conference organized by the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL). According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the event, themed "Navigating the Future: Industrial Policy and Global Competitiveness," was hosted in collaboration with the Centre for International Trade and Business Laws, NALSAR University of Law, and the World Trade Institute, University of Bern, under the WTO India Chairs Programme. Held at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, from January 17 to 19, the conference focused on shaping India's industrial policy within the evolving geopolitical landscape. The conference featured in-depth deliberations on the resurgence and evolution of industrial policy, its measurement metrics, and its compatibility with WTO regulations. Experts underscored the significance of WTO disciplines in ensuring that industrial policy initiatives align with a rules-based international trading system. The discussions highlighted India's efforts in fostering resilient global supply chains and energy transition strategies. Prof. James J. Nedumpara, Head of CTIL, in his welcome speech, emphasized the role of green industrial policy in driving innovation and technological advancements. This was followed by a presidential address by Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law. Former WTO Appellate Body members Ujal Singh Bhatia and Professor Peter Van den Bossche provided key insights into the intersection of trade policy and industrial strategies. Renowned scholars and trade policy experts, including Dr. Werner Zdouc, former Director of the Appellate Body; Sumanta Chaudhuri, Head of Trade Policy at CII; Dr. Pritam Banerjee, Head of the Centre for WTO Studies; Prof. Henry Gao, Singapore Management University; Prof. Abhijit Das, former Head of the Centre for WTO Studies; Dr. Alicia Gracia, Senior Fellow at Bruegel; and Dr. Isabelle Van Damme, Director of the World Trade Institute, contributed valuable insights into India's evolving industrial framework.
