New chapter for iconic Gwent valleys hotel - and beer prices are dropping
A NEW chapter begins for the celebrated Tredegar Arms Hotel, Tredegar, which dates back to the early 1900s. Newly formed and family-owned company, NANG Hospitality, has taken over management of the iconic Morgan Street venue. Building on the legacy of much-loved former owners Rob and Steve Williams, the new leadership team aims to protect the hotel's heritage while evolving its offer for guests and the local community. Sitting in the heart of Tredegar, the Tredegar Arms boasts ten luxurious en-suite bedrooms, alongside its Coach House restaurant, sports bar, and Sirhowy Suite function space, ideal for weddings and events. Since its £1.5 million refurbishment in 2019, the hotel has become a cornerstone of the local area and has received numerous accolades including Best Hotel in Tredegar (2022), consistent 9/10 ratings on and a Hotel Social Certificate of Excellence. NANG Hospitality will be led by directors Nadine Price, Alex Price and Gemma Brown, all experienced hospitality professionals with strong ties to the area. Nadine said: 'Family already worked here and then I got a job as front-of-house. I loved the place so much that when the opportunity came to take over the place, we just couldn't resist it. 'We want to drop beer prices as a thank you to old customers of this wonderful pub. We will also be offering a new menu.' The vision is to build on the hotel's reputation for quality and community spirit, while introducing new ideas to enhance guest experience. The hand-over took place on 11th August 2025, with no disruption to current operations. All existing bookings and agreements will be honoured in full, Nadine says. The Tredegar Arms has long been a favourite for locals, business travellers, and wedding guests alike. Its central location makes it a hub for visitors exploring Blaenau Gwent's heritage, including Bedwellty House and Park, the Sirhowy Ironworks, and the nearby Brecon Beacons. NANG Hospitality's arrival signals a renewed commitment to local engagement. Plans include expanding event offerings, collaborating with nearby producers and suppliers. With its elegant interiors, welcoming atmosphere, and new leadership, the Tredegar Arms is poised to remain a landmark of hospitality in the region. Recent reviews from Trip Advisor suggest a quality time for all 'We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area,' said one. 'I booked a single room while visiting family nearby and was blown away by the high standard. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious, and the games room was a fun surprise.
