Gym trainer held for illegally selling blood pressure drugs to clients in Thane
Thane: A 32-year-old fitness instructor was apprehended on Tuesday evening for unlawfully storing and distributing prescription blood pressure medications to gymnasium members in Thane.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials from Thane collaborated with the local police's Crime Branch to conduct the operation.
The detained individual, Mangesh Sadanand Parab, who resides in Vartak Nagar, was discovered with 290 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection IP 30mg/ml, sold under the names "TERMIVA" and "NAPROPHEN", with a total value of Rs 1,07,604. DCP (Crime) Amar Singh Jadhav confirmed these Schedule H medications require proper medical prescription for sale or distribution.
Following intelligence received by Senior PI Salil Bhosale of Crime Branch Unit 5, authorities conducted a search near Vihang Garden Society along the Vartak Nagar–Vaityvadi Road. Drugs Inspector RD Shinde supervised the operation alongside Inspector SS Bhujbal.

According to police statements, "Parab was selling the injections to gym clients under the pretext of muscle enhancement and stamina boosting, despite being aware of the medical risks and legal restrictions."
