The Mike Brown era is officially on.
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 22, the New York Knicks tip off their 2025-26 campaign, one that comes complete with lofty expectations.
After an impressive showing last year — that included a shocking upset of the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals — Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby fell short against the scrappy yet clutch Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Although 2024-25 was the franchise's best showing since the '99-'00 season, they fired head coach Tom Thibodeau and brought in the veteran Brown to take his place.
'Nobody has any bigger expectations than I do,' the 55-year-old head coach said in his first press conference with the team. 'My expectations are high. This is the Knicks and Madison Square Garden. It's iconic. … I love and embrace the expectations that come along with it.'
He'll have his mettle tested when his gifted squad faces off against Donovan Mitchell's Cleveland Cavaliers three times (including a Christmas Day matchup at the Garden), Jaylen Brown's Boston Celtics four times and their pesky foes, the now Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner-less Indiana Pacers four times as well.
Make sure to keep an eye out for No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg's MSG debut on Jan. 19, aka MLK Day, when the Mavericks come into town as well as former Knicks Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo annual Timberwolves visit on Nov. 5.
They'll also square up with Shai Gilgous-Alexander's reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
That's not to mention LeBron and Luka's Lakers (Feb. 1), Steph's Warriors (March 15) and the crosstown Nets (Nov. 9 and Jan. 21).
Clearly, there's a lot of basketball to be excited for these next few months.
If you want to be there to root yourself hoarse once again cheering for the blue and orange at Madison Square Garden, tickets are available for all home games — including preseason and in-season tournament contests — as soon as today.

On Saturday, Sept. 6, Knicks stars/podcast co-hosts Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart host the second annual 'Roommates Show Block Party' at Central Park.
Special guests joining them at the electrifying one-day-only event include Ben Stiller, Eli Manning, Jordan Clarkson and musical guest A$AP Ferg. Other surprise guests — who may be Knicks players, celebrity fans, and other cultural icons — haven't been announced yet.
