NBC Sports' 2025-26 NBA slate begins with an NBA Tip-Off doubleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and also features the NBA Mexico City Game 2025, the first-ever quadrupleheader on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, All-Star Weekend, and comprehensive playoff coverage. All NBA games presented by NBC Sports will stream live on Peacock. There will be 8,532 days between NBC Sports' last NBA game – Game 4 of the NBA Finals when the Los Angeles Lakers swept the New Jersey Nets on June 12, 2002 – and its 2025-26 season debut on Oct. 21 on NBC and Peacock. NBC Sports' first NBA schedule in 24 years is loaded with star-studded matchups, postseason rematches, historic rivalries, and intriguing storylines. All 30 teams are represented, with the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder, Eastern Conference finalist New York Knicks, and 2024-25 NBA Playoff teams Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers making the maximum number of appearances with 11. In addition to the NBA Tip-Off doubleheader, Peacock NBA Monday debut doubleheader, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day quadrupleheader, which were announced Tuesday, NBC Sports' 2025-26 NBA regular-season schedule highlights include: On Feb. 1, LeBron James, Luka Dončić and the Lakers visit Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks at famed Madison Square Garden followed by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder visiting Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets in the debut of Sunday Night Basketball. In the debut of Coast 2 Coast Tuesday on Oct. 28, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks host Brunson and the Knicks followed by Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and the Clippers visiting Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and the Warriors. Streaming on Peacock NBA Monday on Nov. 24, the Rockets face Kevin Durant's former team, the Phoenix Suns, at 9:30 p.m. ET in his first visit back to Phoenix after being traded to Houston this offseason. One day later, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, James, Dončić, and the Lakers host Leonard, Harden, and the Clippers in a crosstown L.A. battle as part of the Emirates NBA Cup Group Play. In NBC Sports' lone Saturday night game of the regular season on Nov. 1, 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks face 2021 No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons from Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Peacock. This matchup marks the NBA's 34th game in Mexico since 1992 (the most of any country outside of the U.S. and Canada) and coincides with the country's 'Day of the Dead' celebrations. On Tues., Dec. 2, Brunson and the Knicks visit the Celtics at TD Garden in a rivalry game that doubles as a playoff rematch after New York defeated Boston in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. On Mon., Jan. 5, 2023, in a battle of MVP centers, Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers host Jokić and the Nuggets. On Mon., Feb. 9, four-time NBA MVP LeBron James and the Lakers take on reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder. On Sun., Feb. 22, James, Dončić, and the Lakers host 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics in a matchup of franchises that have met a record 12 times in the NBA Finals. On Sun., April 5, Dončić, James, and the Lakers visit Flagg, Anthony Davis, and the Dallas Mavericks, a little over a year after the stunning blockbuster trade that sent Dončić to L.A. and Davis to Dallas. The fourth annual Rivals Week – the NBA's dedicated week in January to classic and budding rivalries between teams and players – will be included on Coast 2 Coast Tuesday, with the Jan. 20 doubleheader of Spurs vs. Rockets and Lakers vs. Nuggets. # Emirates NBA Cup Group Play games SUNDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL After Sunday Night Football and NFL playoff coverage concludes in 2026, NBC Sports will launch Sunday Night Basketball across NBC and Peacock on Feb. 1, 2026. This year, Sunday Night Basketball will pause on Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, 2026, due to NBC Sports' coverage of Super Bowl LX, the NBA All-Star Game, and the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. It will resume on Feb. 22 and run through April 5, 11 games in total including three doubleheaders. A one-hour, on-site studio program will lead into game coverage each week on NBC and Peacock. Sunday Night Basketball premieres with a can't-miss doubleheader as James and the Lakers visit iconic Madison Square Garden to take on Brunson and the Knicks at 7 p.m. ET, followed by an MVP showdown between Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder and Jokić and the Nuggets. On March 15, the Warriors and Curry visits MSG – where he broke the all-time three-point field goals record in 2021 – to face the Knicks. On April 5, Curry and the Warriors host Durant and the Rockets, as Durant faces the franchise that he won two NBA Championships with and earned back-to-back NBA Finals MVP honors in 2017 and 2018. Sunday Night Basketball (excluding Knicks-Thunder on March 29) and the 2026 NBA All-Star Game (Feb. 15) will be available in Spanish on Telemundo. When the Phoenix Suns traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, the writing was on the wall when the offseason began. It was also something that general manager Brian Gregory unfortunately knew would happen. Advertisement Still, as the general manager, he needed to get the best return. After Durant told Phoenix his list of preferred destinations, they eventually sent him to Houston. Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, along with more second-round picks, were what came back to the Valley. During an availability on Monday, Gregory talked to reporters and detailed what he sought after in a potential Durant trade. 'Our biggest thing was to find a way to bring in the valuable pieces that would help us continue to move forward in the right direction…So the team got together at the end and felt pretty good about what transpired,' Gregory said via Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports. Advertisement For the Suns, they go younger, but lose the man that is Kevin Durant. His elite scoring is a rarity, especially with his size. Regardless of that, landing Green is promising. He brings a youthful athleticism, and a scoring prowess that can fit nicely next to Booker. It also fits the culture Phoenix is building with young players surrounding its star. Also, Durant is a generational talent who has proven himself at the highest level. Meanwhile, Green is on the rise, but looking to prove himself. Following a fickle 2025 NBA Playoff run, he's looking to elevate his game. Advertisement Simultaneously, the Suns brought in an enforcer in Dillon Brooks. The latter has a reputation for being a hard-nosed defender, and being severely disliked by opponents. However, his teammates have raved about him, and his play style. At the end of the day, the Rockets could reap their rewards immediately with Durant. Still, age is a factor, and the latter might have more years behind him, than in front of him. For Green, at 23 years old, he's just starting to scratch the surface. Combining that with Booker being in his prime could be a recipe for success. It might not be immediate, but it's a start. Building the identity rooted around youth, athleticism, and character has been Gregory's prerogative since taking the job. Things might not be going great between rapper Cardi B and New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs — at least on social media. Just weeks after making their romance public with cozy Instagram posts, fans noticed that Cardi has deleted every photo of Diggs from her account. The timing of Cardi's Instagram change stands out because it came right after reports of Diggs going big for a fancy vacation with her. Back in early June, Cardi B shared sweet videos of the two together and was even seen supporting Diggs at his 'Diggs Day Camp' at the University of Maryland. But now, after she wiped all those posts, people are starting to wonder if something happened between them. Meanwhile, Diggs hasn't deleted anything and still has pictures of Cardi on his page, which makes the situation more confusing. The timing of Cardi's Instagram change stands out because it came right after reports of Diggs going big for a fancy vacation with her. Watch Stefon Diggs rented out Château de Farcheville According to The Cut, he rented the Château de Farcheville — a castle near Paris that costs about $12,000 a night. They were spotted on Valentine's Day and then again watching an NBA Playoff game at Madison Square Garden on May 25. But fans didn't really get confirmation until Cardi's June posts. Stefon Diggs signed $69 million deal with the Patriots Diggs has been in the news a lot lately because of Cardi B, but football is coming up fast. He signed a $69 million deal with the Patriots back in March, and people are waiting to see how he does with the team's new rookie quarterback, Drake Maye. Training camp starts on July 23. What's going on with him and Cardi B isn't clear. The Instagram changes might mean they broke up, or maybe they just don't want to share everything online anymore. Either way, people are watching what happens next.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are a win away from having an NBA championship parade after they scored a pivotal 120-109 win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Advertisement The Thunder's Game 5 victory probably would not have been possible without the incredible production of the duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. The 2024-25 NBA Most Valuable Player dropped 31 points on a 9-for-21 shooting from the floor while Williams led all players in the contest with an NBA Playoff career-high of 40 points on the strength of a 14-for-25 shooting from the field. With those performances, Williams and Gilgeous-Alexander became just the first pair of teammates in an NBA Finals game to pull off an astonishing scoring feat since LeBron James and Kyrie Irving did during their time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. 'Jalen Williams and SGA join LeBron and Kyrie as the only teammates since 1980 to finish a Finals game with 40+ points for one and 30+ points for the other,' posted Zach Kram of ESPN on the social media platform, Bluesky. Williams and Gilgeous-Alexander took turns in pummeling Indiana, which didn't have its biggest star performing up to par. Tyrese Haliburton had a nightmarish night with his shot, as he missed all six of his attempts from the field while finishing with just four points, all from the foul line. Advertisement The Pacers had a spirited run in the fourth quarter, where they reduced an 18-point deficit down to a four-point disadvantage, but unlike in the series opener, Oklahoma City extinguished Indiana's comeback attempt and made great plays on both ends of the floor to avoid a complete collapse and secure a win. Game 5 was another reminder as well that the Thunder are more than just about Gilgeous-Alexander, with Williams doing most of the heavy lifting offensively. Meanwhile, Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace provided 25 points and seven 3-pointers together for the Thunder, who can close out the series and raise the Larry O'Brien Trophy as soon as Game 6 on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana. Through five games in the 2025 NBA Finals, Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the Thunder with an average of 32.4 points on a 47.5 field goal percentage, while Williams is right behind him with 25.8 points per outing on a 44.7 success rate from the floor.
