Detroit Pistons 2025-26 schedule takeaways: What you need to know

The Detroit Pistons' full 2025-26 schedule was released Thursday, August 14. They will look to build on a surprise 44-win season that ended with a gut-wrenching first-round exit to the New York Knicks that saw them lose all three home games in a winnable series despite no Jaden Ivey or Isaiah Stewart (besides Game 1). Here are three takeaways from the Pistons' 82-game regular season schedule, which has them on a national broadcast 16 times. They will be in the national spotlight Last summer, the Pistons were granted a single game on ESPN following a franchise-worst 14-68 season. They picked up more games on national TV as the season progressed and morphed into a playoff contender, and that trend has continued into the upcoming season. The Pistons are currently scheduled for 16 national games, including four on ESPN and two on NBC. They also will have six games streaming exclusively on Peacock and four games streaming only on Amazon Prime. Peacock, the streaming platform for NBC, will feature the Pistons three times within their first 11 games, all at home — against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 27, in Peacock's inaugural Monday doubleheader (7 p.m.), Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 1 and Washington Wizards on Nov. 10. The Pistons will face the Atlanta Hawks on the road on NBC and Peacock on Nov. 18, and again Jan. 10 when they host the Boston Celtics. Their ESPN games are scheduled for Nov. 26 on the road against the Celtics and at home against the Cavaliers on Feb. 26, Hawks on March 25 and Milwaukee Bucks on April 8 in the season's third-to-last game. Pistons' first 25 games feature an Eastern Conference test The Pistons' first 25 games include three against the Bucks, two each against the Orlando Magic and Hawks and one against the Cavaliers. They comprise most of the teams they will primarily be battling for home-court advantage in the playoffs, with both the Magic and Hawks expected to take a leap forward coming off of an active offseason. That stretch also includes two games against the Philadelphia 76ers, who could reemerge as a contender depending on Joel Embiid's health status, and two games against the Indiana Pacers, who could still be in the playoff mix despite losing Tyrese Haliburton to injury and Myles Turner to the Bucks in free agency. The Celtics also appear twice, though they will take a step back with Jayson Tatum injured and most of their key veterans departed. By early December, the Pistons will have a good idea of where they stand in the East. ANALYSIS: Eastern Conference power rankings: Pistons in position to move up standings Knicks return to Detroit in January A rivalry between the Pistons and Knicks brewed during their six-game playoff series in the 2025 first round, and fans at Little Caesars Arena greeted the road team with deafening boos — and obscene chants — that came through loud and clear on the TV broadcast. The Knicks will play in Detroit twice, on Jan. 5 and Feb. 6. The Pistons will round out the three-game slate in New York a couple weeks later Feb. 19 at Madison Square Garden, where they won two of three in the postseason. Peacock will air the first game, and Prime will carry the final two. Detroit Pistons schedule release 2025-26: See all 82 NBA games, dates

The Detroit Pistons' full 2025-26 schedule has been released. They will tip off their season Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the Chicago Bulls at 8 p.m. ET. The Pistons' home opener at Little Caesars Arena will be Sunday, Oct. 26 against the Boston Celtics at 3:30 p.m. The league had already previously announced seven Pistons games, including their four-game NBA Cup slate. POWER POLL: How Pistons rank compared to other Eastern Conference contenders Pistons national TV games The Pistons have multiple games that will be broadcast nationally either on TV or streaming. This includes: Oct. 27: vs Cavaliers, Peacock, 7 p.m. Nov. 26: at Celtics, 5 p.m., ESPN (NBA Cup). Jan. 19: vs Celtics, 8 p.m., NBC/Peacock (MLK Day). And the team announced in June it would play the Dallas Mavericks in Mexico City on Nov. 1. It will be the Pistons' third time playing in Mexico, with the two teams last facing each other in the city in 2019. They'll tip off their four-game preseason slate Oct. 6 on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies. Pistons roster reset The Pistons will run back much of last season's roster, which completed a historic 30-game turnaround en route to 44 wins and a first-round exit to the New York Knicks in six games. A new crop of veterans have been added, most notably Michigan alumni Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson. They replace the team's top three free agents, who all left: Malik Beasley (unsigned), Dennis Schröder (Sacramento Kings), Tim Hardaway Jr. (Denver Nuggets). Cade Cunningham will enter his fifth season after earning third-team All-NBA last season — and an extra $45 million — after he helped the Pistons snap a 17-year franchise drought without a playoff win. Cunningham will be flanked by Jaden Ivey — back from a broken fibula suffered in January — Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, second-year wing Ron Holland and Isaiah Stewart. Warriors' 2025-26 NBA schedule released, featuring matchups vs. Lakers, Clippers

Warriors' 2025-26 NBA schedule released, featuring matchups vs. Lakers, Clippers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area The Warriors' marquee 2025-26 regular-season games and NBA Cup matchups already have been announced by the league, but on Thursday, the rest of Golden State's slate was revealed. After opening the season against the Lakers in Los Angeles on Oct. 21, the Warriors return home for a four-game homestand against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 23, the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 24, the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 27 and the LA Clippers on Oct. 28. In addition to hosting the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, the Warriors also welcome the Miami Heat to Chase Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Monday, Jan. 19. NBC Sports Bay Area will air 63 regular-season Warriors games, with each game also available in the NBC Sports app. The Warriors are scheduled to have seven games on NBC and four games on Peacock, the new broadcast home of the NBA. The Warriors begin their quest to win the 2025 NBA Cup on Nov. 7 against the Nuggets. Golden State also has Group C games on the road against the San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 14 and at home against the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 21 and the Houston Rockets on Nov. 26. Golden State gets to test itself against the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder three times by early January. The Warriors travel to OKC on Nov. 11 for their first meeting. Then the Thunder visit San Francisco on Dec. 2 and Jan. 2. The final matchup between the two Western Conference powers comes on March 7 at Paycom Center. As Steph Curry and LeBron James wind down their Hall of Fame careers, every meeting between the two superstars carries extra weight, which is why the NBA has them facing off on Opening Night. But after that game, the Warriors and Lakers don't see each other again until Feb. 7, again at Arena. The two meetings at Chase Center come on Feb. 28 and April 9. After Kevin Durant and the Rockets visit San Francisco in late November, the Warriors travel to Houston on March 5. The final meeting between the teams occurs on April 5 at Chase Center. The Warriors will make their first trip of the season to Sacramento on Nov. 5, with the Kings traveling down I-80 for a Jan. 9 game at Chase Center. The final two meetings between the Northern California rivals will come within four days at the end of the season. They will play April 7 in San Francisco and at Golden 1 Center on April 10 – Golden State's second-to-last regular-season game. If Steph Curry hadn't injured his hamstring in Game 1 of the Warriors' second-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves in May, Golden State might have won the series. This season, they won't see each other until Jan. 24 and Jan. 26 when they play a mini two-game series at Target Center. Their only meeting at Chase Center is March 13. If Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Co. are deep in the playoff race, the final game of the season could have massive implications, as the Warriors face the Clippers at Intuit Dome on April 12. The Warriors have high hopes entering the season and they'll learn a lot about the roster during the first 20 games. Download and follow the Dubs Talk Podcast
