The Traitors US finally makes major change fans have been begging for

After three seasons, The Traitors US is getting a major facelift which will give the show new life. For the first three years of its run, the US version of the gripping game show has featured a gathering of celebrities joining host Alan Cumming in the famous Scottish castle. So far, famous faces and reality stars – including the likes of Maura Higgins, Donna Kelce, WWE's Nikki Bella and Sam Asghari – have taken centre stage as Faithfuls and Traitors in the game of bluff and deceit. The fourth season will follow the same pattern, but now a spinoff has been announced featuring a cast made up exclusively of civilians. It finally brings the show in line with the UK and other versions, which shine by putting the focus on ordinary people competing for the cash prize. Alan revealed the news yesterday at the inaugural Televerse 2025 conference in Los Angeles, with production set to get underway next year. 'The money will mean more to them,' he said. 'I'm pretty excited about it. I think it's going to be a hoot.' Want to get all the latest news and predictions for the best and most dramatic show this new year? She added: 'With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch.' Meanwhile, Studio Lambert boss Stephen Lambert added how excited the company is to 'open up the experience to a new group of civilian players' in the US. He pointed out that their 'stories and strategies will make the gameplay even more unpredictable – and, we hope, even more addictive for viewers'. More Trending The spinoff format will be familiar to viewers here in the UK, who have enjoyed seeing how unknown civilians take on the game, letting their personalities shine. As the US version changes for the spinoff, we're going the other way later this year as the BBC airs the first UK celebrity version, with the likes of Sir Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Kate Garraway. Steven Spielberg's 7-Word Response to When He'll Retire From Hollywood

It's hard to imagine a world in which Steven Spielberg isn't making movies—so much so that even the three-time Oscar winner doesn't want to envision it. The Jaws creator was on hand Thursday night for the dedication of a new, state-of-the-art theater just steps from Universal Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter.'It's not just a place that is founded on his extraordinary legacy but it is a place of future hopes and dreams of filmmakers, of storytellers who are you going to take this company into the next 100 years, and the 100 after that,' enthused NBCUniversal Entertainment chairman Donna Langley, who has shared a very rare 50 years of making movies with Spielberg. When it was finally Spielberg's turn to speak, it was clear just how emotional—and touching—a moment it was for the beloved filmmaker. He spoke about witnessing the changing fortunes of the studio first-hand, and how thrilling it was to see the company become what it is today, which he described as 'The rebirth of the belief in the people that work as a family, as a community, as a team to make good thing happen. Spielberg, 78, concluded his remarks by answering the one question on everyone's mind that was never asked of him: When does he plan to retire? 'I'm making a lot of movies,' Spielberg said, 'and I have no plans ever to retire.' The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Spielberg separately from his speech, and asked about what films were still on his bucket list. He shared that he has 'an appetite for a Western which I will someday hopefully do… It's something that's eluded me for all of these decades.' Why was Suits LA cancelled after one season? Here's what the makers said

There were a lot of expectations that were riding on the spin-off of Suits, Suits LA, but it seems like the show has not been able to garner a good response. NBC also pulled a plug on the show after one season. In an interview with Variety, the makers have opened up about the reasons for not going ahead for a second season. (Also read: Suits LA First Reactions: Fans irritated as spin-off falls flat; say it 'feels like a TikTok parody of the original') Jeff Bader, who is the president, program planning strategy, of NBC Universal Entertainment, told Variety, 'It's so hard to talk about shows and which ones you bring back, and Suits had a very short run, but it really just has not resonated the way we thought it would. There can be many, many reasons why, people are speculating why it hasn't resonated, but it's just not really showing the potential to grow for us in the future, unfortunately." He went on to add, 'And it's those decisions we had to make. We had to look at the performance of the shows, both on linear and on digital. We had to see the ones that looked like they had growth potential in the future. So we're looking at how stable they are on their linear performance, how stable they are on digital, which ones are growing and which ones are declining. And we had to make some hard decisions.' Suits LA was an American legal drama television series created by Aaron Korsh for NBC. It is the second spin-off of Suits, starring Stephen Amell as Ted Black, Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen. There was a lot of hype surrounding the return of Gabriel Macht, who reprised his role as Harvey Specter. However, the show did not receive favourable reviews upon release.
