Maalik Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao's massy action drama opens with decent number, earns Rs...
Rajkummar Rao's massy action thriller Maalik has finally hit the big screens. The movie was released on July 11 and so far has had a modest start at the box office. According to the producers, the film has collected Rs 4.02 crore nett on its opening day in India (NBOC). Rajkummar's film is garnering all the rave reviews from the audience. And, with strong word of mouth, it is expected that the movie will gain momentum over the weekend. On the other hand, early reports as per industry tracker Sacnilk indicated that Maalik has collected Rs 3.2 crore on Day 2. With this, the total of the film reaches Rs 6.95 crore. Rajkummar Rao's movie witnessed an overall 14.16% Hindi occupancy on Saturday. Maalik's Box Office Performance Though Maalik did not earn as expected on Day 1, it outperformed Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Vikrant's movie earned only Rs 32 lakh at the box office. About Maalik Helmed by Pulkit, and produced by Kumar Taurani under the Tips Films banner in collaboration with Jay Shewakramani of Northern Lights Films, Maalik is a story that develops into themes of ambition, power, and survival. It offers a gritty glimpse into a world ruled by violence, greed, and unshakable loyalty, as the protagonist maneuvers through a perilous rise to power. Apart from Rajkummar Rao, the movie also features Manushi Chhillar in the lead role. The cast also includes Saurabh Sachdeva, Saurabh Shukla, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and Baljinder Kaur in key roles. Maalik: Review review of Maalik reads, 'Overall, Rajkummar Rao's experimental flick showcases strong performances from its supporting cast and excels in technical aspects like cinematography and music, but it is a letdown due to an underwhelming lead performance, editing, and narrative that lacks cohesion. The film had the potential to be a compelling gangster saga if they had done it right, but ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying cinematic experience.'
