In line with the Egyptian government's ongoing efforts to create job opportunities for youth and combat illegal migration and trafficking in persons, the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM&TIP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), has launched a series of periodic exhibitions focused on showcasing Egyptian handicrafts and heritage.
The 13th edition of the 'Buy Egyptian Art', exhibition for Egyptian heritage products will be held in cooperation with the International Organization of Migration (IOM) from 8 to 10 May 2025, at the Cultural Center of Al-Gezira Club.
The exhibition will be inaugurated in the presence of Ambassador Yasser Shaaban, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration for Cultural Relations, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Basel Rahmi, CEO of MSMEDA, Ambassador Naela Gabr, Chair of the NCCPIM&TIP, Carlos Oliver, Chief of Mission of IOM Egypt.
This exhibition reflects the state's commitment to promoting economic empowerment for youth and reducing illegal migration and human trafficking through supporting small and artisanal enterprises and linking them to local and international markets. It also aims to introduce ambassadors and diplomats assigned abroad to Egyptian artisans' products, encouraging the export of these items in support of the national economy.
The exhibition serves as an interactive platform connecting young producers with the Egyptian and international diplomatic communities, enabling them to showcase their products, expand market opportunities, and enhance their communication and marketing skills. For the second consecutive year, Al-Gezira Sports Club hosts the exhibition at its Cultural Center in the Villa Major Heritage, reflecting a successful public-private partnership that bolsters civil society's role in supporting artisans.
MSMEDA has provided full support to the exhibitors through financial and non-financial services to scale their businesses and ensure sustainability, contributing to job creation and added value to the Egyptian economy.
The Diversity of exhibits reflects Egypt's rich cultural heritage and the vitality of its creative and small-to-medium enterprise sectors, with this edition emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and authentic artistry.
