Baroda Cricketer Shivalik Sharma Arrested For Rape Charges
26-year-old Indian cricketer Shivalik Sharma, who represents Baroda in domestic cricket, has been arrested on rape charges. According to a report in NDTV Rajasthan on Monday (May 5), the left-handed batter was taken into custody by Rajasthan Police. A complaint was filed at the Kudi Bhagatsani police station in Jodhpur, after which he was arrested. After the investigation, he was in court and was sent to judicial custody.
According to available information, a woman has filed a police complaint against Shivalik in which she accused him of engaging in physical relations with her under the false promise of marriage. The two reportedly met during a trip to Vadodara in February 2023 and developed a close relationship, maintaining regular contact over the phone. Eventually, their families met and agreed to an engagement, which was formalised in August 2023 when Shivalik's parents visited Jodhpur.
