Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Friday said he was prepared to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as many times as he can to secure necessary funds and project permissions for the state. Addressing a gathering at Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district, the CM emphasised the importance of cooperation from the Centre for attracting investments and fostering development. He said private investments and industrial growth are essential to boost state revenues and sustain welfare programmes for the poor. He outlined the Congress govt's vision of turning Telangana into a ₹1 trillion economy, while calling for people's support, cooperation of opposition, and Centre-state collaboration to accelerate development. Revanth highlighted that the Congress govt had attracted over ₹3 lakh crore investments in just 15 months, focusing on creating wealth through industrial parks and strengthening key sectors like pharma and IT, which would also generate jobs for youth. "Only when industries and investments come, will we have income to fund welfare schemes for the poor," he asserted. IC Markets Start Now Undo He vowed not to rest until major projects like NIMZ, Musi river rejuvenation, Regional Ring Road, Metro Rail expansion, and Bharat Future City were completed. "If needed, I'll go to Delhi 50 more times to get funds and approvals," he said, underlining the importance of maintaining cordial relations with the Centre for the state's progress. He laid foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth Rs 494 crore. He also unveiled a statue of Sri Basaveshwar Maharaj, saying the Congress govt, inspired by Basaveshwara's ideals, is committed to social justice. The CM announced Indiramma houses for 5,612 families affected by the NIMZ project and land acquisition with increased compensation. He criticised the previous BRS govt for "stalling progress and neglecting farmers, women, and youth." The CM said he would do politics only during elections and devote full time to the development of the state. Listing various welfare schemes, Revanth reiterated the govt's ambitious plan to make one crore women crorepatis, and said 60,000 govt jobs and one lakh private sector jobs had been provided in just over a year. He renewed his appeal to former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to attend assembly sessions and raise people's issues. Revanth recalled the association of Medak district with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who contested the Lok Sabha seat from there in 1980. Addressing a gathering at Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district, Reddy emphasised the importance of cooperation from both the Centre and the opposition for attracting investments and fostering development in the state. He also urged Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, K Chandrasekhar Rao to attend the House and engage in discussions on pertinent issues. 'Politics are done only during election time. My aim is to develop this region after the elections. We will take the Centre's support. We will meet Narendra Modi not once, even 50 times. We will secure the funds that should come to us. We will get the permissions required,' Reddy said. Reddy assured that over 5,000 houses under Indiramma housing scheme, will be allotted to those who lost their lands during the land acquisition for NIMZ. Earlier at a programme, the CM said his government would implement welfare programmes and work for social justice by taking inspiration from 12th century philosopher and social reformer Basaveshwara. After inaugurating a statue of Basaveshwara near Zaheerabad, he noted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had highlighted the message of social justice of Basaveshwara and the need for conducting caste census, during 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Basaveshwara's message is an inspiration for the Congress government in implementing programmes for social welfare and social justice, he said. During his visit to Sangareddy district, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a Kendriya Vidyalaya at Machnoor.
