Sudha Murthy to receive Justice K.S. Hegde Award 2025
Philanthropist, author, and Rajya Sabha Member, Sudha Murthy, is to be honoured with the Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Foundation Award 2025 for her contributions to society. The ceremony, organised by the NITTE Education Trust and NITTE (deemed-to-be university), will take place at the NMIT campus in Yelahanka here at 5:30 p.m. on June 11. Ms. Murthy, founder of the Infosys Foundation and Chairperson of the Murthy Trust, is celebrated for her contributions to education, healthcare, and literature. The award, named after former Lok Sabha Speaker Justice K.S. Hegde, honours individuals who exemplify justice, integrity, and public service. Dignitaries including Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty will attend. Past recipients include Dr. Manmohan Singh, Medha Patkar, and Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte.

SC judge inaugurates national conference on Indian Constitution
Belagavi: Supreme court judge Justice Prasanna Varale inaugurated the national-level conference on the topic 'The Constitution of India at 75: Reinventing Constitutionalism' organised by KLE Society's BV Bellad Law College , Belagavi, on Saturday. Opening the conference at Dr Kodkani Hall, JN Medical College Belagavi, Justice Prasanna B Varale referred to Dr BR Ambedkar and said our constitution gave every citizen human values, respect, and equal opportunity for growth. Hence, we should acknowledge the work of Dr Ambedkar. He enlightened the audience on how the constitution safeguards the rights of women. Sandeep Shastri, vice president, NITTE Education Trust, Bengaluru, enlightened the gathering with the 3 A's: Attitude, Aspiration, and Vishwanath I Patil, director, board of management, KLE Society, who presided over the event, said that the conference is conducted to impart research and presentation skills among our students and to equip them with professional skills and techniques of advocacy so as to excel in their profession and serve were two plenary sessions. RB Bellad, advocate and chairman, BV Bellad Law College, Belagavi, and students of various law colleges across the nation participated in the conference.
