A look at recent deadly attacks in Pakistan as it battles rising militancy Following are some recent deadly attacks in Pakistan, where the government is facing insurgencies on two fronts - militant attacks in the northwest and a growing separatist insurgency in the south. MAY 21, 2025 At least three children were among five people killed when a suicide bomber targeted an army school bus in the restive southwestern province of Balochistan, the military said, in an attack Pakistan blamed on Indian proxies. The Indian government did not respond to a request for comment on the accusation. MARCH 11, 2025: A total of 31 people, including soldiers, staff, and civilians, were killed by militants who hijacked a train as it travelled through a remote mountain pass in Balochistan. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the biggest of several ethnic armed groups fighting the government, claimed responsibility. MARCH 4, 2025 Suicide bombers drove two vehicles packed with explosives into a military base in the town of Bannu in the northwest, killing 18 people, including six children. No group claimed responsibility for the violence. NOVEMBER 1, 2024 A blast targeting a police van in Mastung town in Balochistan killed seven people, including five school students, and injured 23 others. No group claimed responsibility. AUGUST 26, 2024 At least 38 civilians and 14 soldiers were killed as separatist militants attacked police stations, railway lines and highways in Balochistan, and security forces launched retaliatory operations. The BLA claimed responsibility for the attacks - the most widespread in the country in years. DECEMBER 12, 2023 At least 57 people, including seven children, died as suicide bombings ripped through two mosques in Mastung while believers marked the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed. No group claimed responsibility. JULY 31, 2023 A suicide bombing targeting a hard-line religious group's political rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's Bajaur region killed 56 people. In a career as long as Hill's, it is a bit crazy to see that he has never received any kind of award or even a nod in the All-Star game. Still, Hill has done solid work throughout his career, with a record of 90-74 and a 4.01 ERA across 386 games and 1,409 innings pitched. He also appears to still be a bit durable, as just two seasons ago he made 32 starts with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres in his age-43 season. It is unclear what kind of production Kansas City is hoping to get out of Hill, as the team currently ranks No. 3 in Wins Above Average from starting pitchers. That would indicate that the signing could be more about helping Hill tie Jackson's record rather than him actually contributing on a well-performing Royals team. Either way, it is impressive enough to see that a 45-year-old is still putting in the work and time it takes to continue his major league career for at least one more season. Musk PAC offers Wisconsin voters $100 for signing petition against ‘activist judges

(Photo by) A political action committee associated with Elon Musk is offering Wisconsin voters $100 if they sign a petition 'in opposition to activist judges' and another $100 if they refer another person who signs the petition. The petition requires people to provide a name, address, email and phone number — information that will help the group make further contact with voters. The group, America PAC, has reported spending more than $7 million in support of Waukesha County Judge Brad Schimel's campaign for state Supreme Court. Musk himself has contributed more than $13 million to pro-Schimel efforts. During the campaign, Schimel's opponent, Dane County Judge Susan Crawford, has accused Musk of trying to buy a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Musk's company, Tesla, recently filed a lawsuit against the state seeking to change Wisconsin's law about who can operate car dealerships within the state. Schimel himself has portrayed himself as a 'support network' for President Donald Trump if elected to the Court. Derrick Honeyman, a spokesperson for the Crawford campaign, accused Musk of 'buying votes.' 'Elon Musk is trying to buy a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court to secure a favorable ruling in his company's lawsuit against the state,' Honeyman said. 'Now Musk has resorted to buying votes. Brad Schimel has spent his career looking out for wealthy special interests and campaign donors, and Musk wants a justice who will rule in his favor to help his own bottom line. Wisconsinites can see right through this extreme corruption and they don't want a slimy billionaire like Elon Musk or a corrupt politician like Brad Schimel controlling the Wisconsin Supreme Court.' The payouts from America PAC mirror an effort the group undertook during last year's presidential election when it circulated a petition expressing support for free speech and gun rights and gave daily awards of $1 million to voters in swing states that had signed similar petitions.
