Edenvale urged to help police reservists get patrol vehicle

Edenvale urged to help police reservists get patrol vehicle Edenvale SAPS reservists have appealed to the community for assistance in obtaining a vehicle. To support their colleagues and fellow SAPS members, the reservists are hoping to collect monetary donations or receive a donated vehicle. By obtaining their dedicated vehicle, the reservists will be better equipped to help fight crime in the community, conduct patrols, and fulfil their duties more effectively. 'We do not want to impede on the logistics and fleet of Edenvale Police Station,' said reservist Constable Murray Carter. 'We would like to have our resources at our disposal.' Reservist Constable Mervyn Chetty said the reservists are not particular about the type of vehicle donated. 'The vehicle needs to be roadworthy and practical to conduct patrols and other duties,' he said. With the support of Edenvale Police Station's station commander, Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo, and Edenvale CPF chairperson Sheryl Damerell, the donation drive is being conducted in partnership with the NPC Little Wish Foundation. 'Together we aim to strengthen community safety through a partnership that integrates both public and private sector support.' He added that by working together, crime can be reduced in the community. 'Together we are seeking either monetary donations or the donation of a physical vehicle for this cause.' 'All donations will be made to the Little Wish Foundation NPC, and a Section 18A certificate will be issued for tax-deductible contributions,' said Rex.
