Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project gets upgraded ISO certification
The National Quality Assurance, London, has upgraded the International Organisation for Standards (ISO) certification issued to Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) from ISO 27001-2013 to ISO 27001-2022.
A release from SKDRDP here said the upgraded certificate with regard to information security, transparency, harnessing technology, maintaining banking records, report generation, etc., was presented by ISO representative G.S. Bhargav to the Project president and Rajya Sabha Member D. Veerendra Heggade at Dharmasthala on Tuesday. NQA had evaluated SKDRDP's performance in 109 parameters out of 114 identified ones before upgrading the certification, Project Executive Director S S Anil Kumar said.
While over 170 countries were members of ISO, the NQA has been auditing reputed institutions in over 90 countries, including India. He said SKDRD was the first to receive the 2022 certification among charitable trusts in the country.
The Reserve Bank of India has mandated that all institutions doing banking business obtain ISO 27001 certification. Consequently, SKDRDP, which has been undertaking banking activities through banking correspondents for members of self-help groups, got its activities audited to avail itself of the certification.
