Rajinikanth's Coolie overseas rights set to shatter records with Rs 80 crore offer

Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie is generating immense buzz, with overseas theatrical rights potentially fetching over Rs 80 crore, setting a new benchmark for Tamil cinema. Makers are strategically targeting Telugu-speaking states, capitalizing on the success of previous films like Jailer and Leo in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film also stars Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and others. The anticipation around Rajinikanth 's upcoming film Coolie is reaching a fever pitch, and the business surrounding the film is already reflecting its sky-high expectations. As per trade sources, the overseas theatrical rights for Coolie are still in the process of being finalized. However, what's making headlines is the massive offers the film has reportedly received for more than Rs 80 crore making it one of the biggest overseas pre-release deals in the history of Tamil these numbers materialize, it would set an all-time record for a Tamil film's pre-release overseas business, surpassing the benchmarks set by previous blockbusters like Jailer, Leo, and 2.0. A final call on the overseas distribution deal is expected to be taken soon, with official details likely to be announced thereafter. Interestingly, the makers of Coolie are said to be strategically focusing on securing a stronger draw from the Telugu-speaking states over the Hindi belt. This shift in focus comes after observing the impressive box office performance of both Rajinikanth's Jailer and director Lokesh Kanagaraj 's Leo in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana — both films posted stronger collections in Telugu states than in the Hindi with the presence of Aamir Khan in the film might bring both the languages on the same footing. Sources close to the production reveal that the team is aiming for a bigger distribution deal from Telugu states given the recent pan-India box office dynamics, where big Tamil films have found increasingly lucrative markets in the Telugu-speaking territories as compared to Hindi share that the number would be in the range of Rs 40 to Rs 50 crore, the only block would be the release of Aditya Chopra- Ayan Mukherji's War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan , NTR Jr and Kiara Advani . The presence of NTR Jr is surely going to impact the Telugu audience as the film though primarily in Hindi will have a wide Telugu dubbed release to cash in on NTR Jr's also features Nagarjuna, Sivakarthikeyan, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde . 4 reasons why War 2 teaser featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani has disappointed fans

The highly awaited War 2 teaser, featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani, dropped on social media yesterday. Although fans were excited to get a first look at the action-packed sequel, the teaser has mostly failed to impress and has left many feeling let down. Since its debut, social media has been buzzing with critiques highlighting various flaws. Let's explore the reasons behind the backlash against the War 2 teaser. 4 reasons why War 2 teaser featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani has disappointed fans Bad Quality - Even soda ads are better The most common and widely expressed opinion about the War 2 teaser is that its quality is disappointing. Viewers have pointed out that the production values look subpar, especially in the clips featuring the lead cast. Many feel the overall visual and technical quality falls short of expectations. CGI - Kiara Advani's bikini shot looks fake In one brief scene from the teaser, Kiara Advani is seen walking in a bikini. However, many viewers quickly pointed out that the shot looks unnatural and somewhat fake, suspecting excessive use of CGI. Some even went as far as saying Kiara appears AI-generated in that particular clip. Poorly choreographed action The War 2 teaser debacle is proof that even stars like Hrithik Roshan do not get much say in how their tentpole projects should look and feel like.. That basic quality control from an auteur action filmmaker or star is dearly missing in our cinema. Not a troll:But the VFX quality in #War2Teaser seriously feels off like 90MM Rod level outputAlmost every frame looks like it was shot completely on a green screen, with little to no depth or realism. the action scenes might suffer badly turning into another ADP-range Movie The action-packed teaser moves at a fast pace, but many viewers pointed out that the scenes lacked proper choreography. For a film that revolves heavily around action, the sequences could have been executed better. However, since this is just the teaser, a more detailed look at the choreography will likely be revealed in the full movie. Is Jr NTR a misfit in War 2? imagine if it was John Abraham in war 2 in place of Ntr 🥵 NTR Jr. is the biggest negative point of the #War2Teaser! He doesn't fit in this genre. He doesn't have that aura nor the expression to be in a spy flick.#War2 #NTRJr Another point that some viewers have raised is that Jr NTR seems miscast in this role. A few people feel that he shouldn't have agreed to play the part, suggesting it doesn't align with his screen presence. Some even went on to say that John Abraham might have been a better fit for the character.

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the biggest cinematic clash of the year starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr — Ayan Mukerji's War 2. On Tuesday, the makers finally unveiled the much-anticipated War 2 teaser on the ocassion of NTR Jr's birthday. While Hrithik reprises his role as RAW agent Major Kabir Dhaliwal, NTR plays the protagonist — marking his highly anticipated debut in Hindi cinema. The teaser begins with NTR Jr's voiceover, as he expresses his eagerness to meet Hrithik Roshan's Kabir, whom he calls 'India's best soldier and RAW's best agent.' However, he adds that while he has been closely watching Kabir's every move, Kabir remains unaware of his existence. In a chilling declaration, Jr NTR warns, 'You don't know me, but you will soon know me,' hinting at the explosive confrontation ahead. The teaser then showcases high-octane battle sequences between Jr NTR and Hrithik, unfolding across breathtaking international locations. A brief glimpse of a bikini-clad Kiara Advani also teases a romantic subplot between her character and Hrithik's Kabir. The teaser ends with Jr NTR decalaring, 'Get ready for War' War 2 is the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The franchise will also expand further with the upcoming Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. The 2019 film War, directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring Tiger Shroff, was a box office blockbuster. Promising to outdo its predecessor, War 2 is touted as a bigger and better sequel. Its action sequences were filmed across six countries — Italy, Spain, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Russia, and Mumbai. There has been speculation if we will see other stars from the YRF spy universe making cameo appearances. However, the makers have been tightlipped about it. With NTR Jr on board, the makers aim to appeal to a pan-India audience. The film also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead and is slated for release on August 14, 2025, just ahead of Independence Day. Earlier, NTR Jr opened up about his experience working with director Ayan Mukerji. The actor revealed they had creative differences, primarily due to their contrasting working styles. He said, 'When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what was going to come. Because he was trying to bring it out from me — that's how this was going to come out. I told him, 'Ayan, I am very instinctive; kuch na kuch aa jayega (something will come).' Now, he is not used to doing this at all; he loves prep, and I am completely the opposite. And then Adi sir was there in between, who said, 'It's ok, it's ok, I get it.''

EXCLUSIVE: 150 shooting days, six action scenes, five countries, two songs, two superstars & one mission – War 2 details revealed

The countdown for the arrival of the biggest Indian film of 2025 has begun, as Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr gear up for the epic face-off in the Ayan Mukerji-directed War 2. Being the sixth film of the ambitious YRF Spy Universe curated by Aditya Chopra, War 2 is touted to be the film that shifts the palette of filmmaking in the universe, as the story-telling blends scale, style, and action, with intense drama and darker character undertones. As the teaser drops tomorrow, here are some exclusive details on this ambitious espionage, which marks the return of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir after the 2019 blockbuster, War. A source shares, ' War 2 is the most ambitious film of the YRF Spy Universe, which has been shot all across the globe over a period of 150 days. Ayan Mukerji took the film on floors in February 2024, and the film has sequences set in six different countries – Spain, Italy, Abu Dhabi, Japan, Russia, and India. Some of the moments have been shot at a set in Mumbai, whereas a major chunk of the film has been canned at real locations.' The source further informs about 6 to 7 days of song shoot remains, which is the epic dance face-off between Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. 'The song shoot will happen in the end of June. Both Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr are excited to shoot for this one-of-its-kind musical face-off. It's a peppy dance number composed by Pritam,' the source confirms, quick to add that the music album of War 2 has two songs. 'One is picturized on Hrithik and NTR, whereas the other is a romantic number ft. Hrithik and Kiara. And both are chartbusters,' the source smiles. We hear that War 2 has six breath-taking action sequences – ranging from hand-to-hand combat, sword fights, mid-ocean action on the boats, car, and bike chases among others. 'The edit work is going on in full swing, and the film is all set for an August 14, 2025 release. It features Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. like never before, as the film celebrates their heroics, and aura to the peak. It's a fight to the finish between two strong-headed men,' the source shares. War 2 brings together two superstars – Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr – and features Kiara Advani as the female lead. 'The expectations are humongous, as much like the Spy Genres, the rivalry is aided by a mission,' the source concludes. The action of War 2 is designed by Sunil Rodrigues, Spiro Razatos, and Se-Yeong Oh. The VFX work is done by YFX, whereas the teaser cut is designed in-house by YRF. While Hrithik Roshan takes charge as Agent Kabir after 6 years, NTR Jr. is the newest entrant to the world of War and YRF Spy Universe. All eyes on this epic face-off now, as the teaser drops tomorrow.
