4 reasons why War 2 teaser featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani has disappointed fans

Time of India21-05-2025
The highly awaited War 2 teaser, featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani, dropped on social media yesterday. Although fans were excited to get a first look at the action-packed sequel, the teaser has mostly failed to impress and has left many feeling let down. Since its debut, social media has been buzzing with critiques highlighting various flaws. Let's explore the reasons behind the backlash against the War 2 teaser.
4 reasons why War 2 teaser featuring Jr NTR, Hrithik Roshan, and Kiara Advani has disappointed fans
Bad Quality - Even soda ads are better
The most common and widely expressed opinion about the War 2 teaser is that its quality is disappointing. Viewers have pointed out that the production values look subpar, especially in the clips featuring the lead cast. Many feel the overall visual and technical quality falls short of expectations.
CGI - Kiara Advani's bikini shot looks fake
In one brief scene from the teaser, Kiara Advani is seen walking in a bikini. However, many viewers quickly pointed out that the shot looks unnatural and somewhat fake, suspecting excessive use of CGI. Some even went as far as saying Kiara appears AI-generated in that particular clip.
Poorly choreographed action
The War 2 teaser debacle is proof that even stars like Hrithik Roshan do not get much say in how their tentpole projects should look and feel like.. That basic quality control from an auteur action filmmaker or star is dearly missing in our cinema.
Not a troll:But the VFX quality in #War2Teaser seriously feels off like 90MM Rod level outputAlmost every frame looks like it was shot completely on a green screen, with little to no depth or realism. the action scenes might suffer badly turning into another ADP-range Movie pic.twitter.com/ymiOyenLeo
The action-packed teaser moves at a fast pace, but many viewers pointed out that the scenes lacked proper choreography. For a film that revolves heavily around action, the sequences could have been executed better. However, since this is just the teaser, a more detailed look at the choreography will likely be revealed in the full movie.
Is Jr NTR a misfit in War 2?
imagine if it was John Abraham in war 2 in place of Ntr 🥵 pic.twitter.com/2IrAGHawBI
NTR Jr. is the biggest negative point of the #War2Teaser! He doesn't fit in this genre. He doesn't have that aura nor the expression to be in a spy flick.#War2 #NTRJr pic.twitter.com/lK9QFgPDh6
Another point that some viewers have raised is that Jr NTR seems miscast in this role. A few people feel that he shouldn't have agreed to play the part, suggesting it doesn't align with his screen presence. Some even went on to say that John Abraham might have been a better fit for the character.

Coolie box office prediction: Tamil cinema's biggest Rs 1,000 crore gamble begins

Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' rampage is all set to begin! As the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is poised to mark its arrival in theatres on August 14, the excitement and euphoria are unmatched. Ever since the makers announced the cast, many have been pegging 'Coolie' as Tamil cinema's first-ever Rs 1,000-crore three days left for release, 'Coolie' has already crossed Rs 50 crore in pre-sales. Trade analysts predict that the film could make Rs 100-150 crore globally on its opening day. India Today Digital exclusively spoke to trade analysts in Chennai and Mumbai to gauge 'Coolie's' Rs 1,000-crore gamble and its performance across India and LIKELY TO OPEN AT RS 150-CRORE GLOBALLYSuperstar Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' is already smashing advance booking records. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film has grossed Rs 65 crore so far. "With three more days to go, 'Coolie' will easily cross Rs 100 crore in India and open at Rs 150 crore globally. The buzz surrounding the film is exceptional and is only increasing with each passing day," Bala told 'COOLIE'S' RS 1,000-CRORE MARCH BEGINSWill 'Coolie' become the first-ever Tamil film to cross Rs 1,000-crore mark? Bala claims that the film has all the potential to become Kollywood's Rs 1,000 crore-grosser. But, there's a observed, "'Coolie' has the long weekend advantage as it is releasing on a Thursday followed by the Independence Day weekend. Hence, it could easily make Rs 350-400 crore in its first week. 'Coolie' could rake in Rs 700 crore in the South. However, for the film to hit Rs 1,000 crore, it has to work in the Hindi market." Trade analyst Girish Wankhede exclusively told "The buzz for 'Coolie' is strong in North Indian market as well. It has an edge as the advance booking kickstarted on Saturday (August 9). There's a huge excitement around the masala pot-boiler, which is loved by the masses. It is no doubt that the Day 1 collection will shatter all records. "WILL 'COOLIE' VS 'WAR 2' CLASH DIM THE CHANCES OF RS 1,000-CRORE MILESTONE?'Coolie' will face competition from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's 'War 2', directed by Ayan Mukerji. Excitement around both films looks promising. Wankhede said that 'War 2' had a modest opening in terms of advance booking, but is likely to pick up in the coming claimed that both 'Coolie' and 'War 2' are sure-shot Rs 500 crore-grossers. But, the advantage now lies with the Rajinikanth-starrer. Elaborating further, he said, "'Coolie' has its footprint in the interiors as it is a mass film and not a class film. Usually, there is an appetite for two films during long weekends. For a film to succeed, a film has to cater to the majority. Hence, 'Coolie' has the edge, while 'War 2' is more urban-centric." Currently, 'Saiyaara' and 'Mahavatar Narsimha' are dominating the Hindi box office. "'Saiyaara', which has grossed Rs 500 crore globally, is steaming out. But, 'Mahavtar Narsimha' is still performing well. But, when 'Coolie' and 'War 2' hit theatres, it will automatically be occupied by these two films. Both films are sure-shot Rs 500 crore-grossers," explained WORD OF MOUTH FAVOUR 'COOLIE' IN THE NORTH?Ramesh Bala stated that 'Coolie' could dominate the box office in the South without any doubts. "But, it's potential to hit Rs 1,000-crore will depend on word-of-mouth. After two shows, if the word-of-mouth is positive, then everything else is a bonus," he Wankhede observed that 'War 2' is a film that will rely on word-of-mouth. "'War 2' will depend on word-of-mouth as it caters to urban audience. It's a niche market. However, 'Coolie' doesn't need word-of-mouth. It doesn't only have Rajinikanth, it also has Aamir Khan. 'War 2', a city-centric film, also has Jr NTR, a big advantage in the Telugu states. Eventually, films for mass consumption generate huge avenues. Even film has ups and downs, but for 'Coolie', it's all ups and no downs," stated Wankhede.'Coolie' has an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Aamir Khan in pivotal roles. Now, all eyes are on 'Coolie' and its big box office gamble.- EndsMust Watch
